TSA considering cuts to air marshal program: report

Source: The Hill

The Trump administration is reportedly considering major budget cuts to the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA), including cuts to the air marshal program.

CNN reported that the agency is considering an internal report detailing up to $300 million worth of funding cuts, including a plan that would reduce the number of full-time air marshals employed by the TSA, while another would end security screenings for passengers flying out of small- to medium-sized airports.

Cuts to the air marshal program alone could save the agency up to $39 million by 2020, according to the internal TSA report as reported by CNN, while the controversial plan to end some airport screenings could save as much as $119.

"Any potential operational changes to better allocate limited taxpayer resources are simply part of pre-decisional discussions and deliberations and would not take place without a risk assessment to ensure the security of the aviation system," Michael Bilello, a spokesman for TSA told The Hill on Wednesday.

They are going to make it easier for a terrorist attack so they can say "see we needed a strong man as President" . They will do ANYTHING to win.

but remember the grotesque way they were able to portray chimpy not as a willfully ignorant buffoon who refused to protect the country after receiving all of the prior intelligence about a pending attack, but rather as the savior of the nation after 9-11.

pukes are masters at turning their catastrophic failures on their heads, at least in the minds of enough 'Muricans, and usually with the corporate media buying in.

In fact, I stopped flying. But what on earth good is it going to do to only screen certain airports and not others?

republicans refused to approve money to defend the 2018 elections, they are courting America's enermies, pissing on our allies, and playing with thier golden, gourmet, luxury putters on the golf courses - biliking American taxpayers out of another freaking $3million this weekend to amuse a draft-dodging, casino-hustling "billionaire."

Tell me again about republican "family values." Just sic,

be on the chopping block are pensions and healthcare for the deadwood in office. They all retire as millionaires, but STILL suck off taxpayers for a pension and raises yearly. Imagine how fast universal healthcare would be implemented if these free-loaders had to pay the going rates for healthcare like the rest of us? They can afford IRA's with the money they grift during their terms in office. Time to overhaul that entire system. Bob Dole spent 6 WEEKS in the military hospital in DC. One of us would have been bankrupt after a stay like that. He and his wife are multi millionaires. Cheney jumped up the list for a heart, and still is alive and hunting. The Bushes have very generous "office" funding - for WHAT?

Cuts to the Transportation Safety Administration, cuts to the Coast Guard, tariffs to keep out foreign trade, etc. But by all that is holy, we "gotta build that wall" that is utterly useless. The sad part is that the TSA and Coast Guard would not have to be cut and we would still have several billion dollars left over. No common sense in tRump world at all.

GOP Gummit plan:
1. Cut agency budget and lay off workers. Replace managers with right-wing cronies that know the game.
2. Cut until public screams for better service.
3. Tell public "we told you government programs don't work" and "private companies do much better".
4. Contract out most services then slowly privatize the entire agency.

Along with rewarding their paymasters, this is a major purpose of their tax cuts. A knife in our backs while we hear it's good for us.
