Masked man enters radio station studio and shoots DJ in Wisconsin

Source: CNN

A man wearing a mask and hood entered a Wisconsin radio station early Sunday morning and opened fire on three disc jockeys in the broadcast studio, the station said.

WORT FM, a radio station based in Madison, said in a statement that witnesses said five gunshots were fired, injuring one DJ in the buttocks and shattering the glass between studios.

The injured DJ was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged, WORT said. No major injuries were reported and no arrest had been made in the case.

Madison Police responded to the shooting at 3:12 a.m. local time and found one person injured, according to a police incident report. Police said it appeared the shooting was not random and there was no risk to the general public.

But why ski mask and hood? Isn't that the point of going postal for revenge?

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A shooting that wounded a disc jockey at a Wisconsin radio station appears to have been a targeted attack against a specific individual, police said Monday.

Sunday’s shooting at WORT-FM in Madison wasn’t a random attack or an act of violence targeting the media, according to police spokesman David Dexheimer.

MADISON - A shooting at a Madison radio station was not politically motivated or an attack on the media, police said.
...
Madison Police Department says it is confident it was not an act of violence committed against the media and has nothing to do with the "national dialogue on media."

"It's an unfortunate location for that to have happened," said Officer David Dexheimer. "I think it’s more coincidental at this point."
...
WORT's news director Molly Stentz said Monday that aside from prank calls, the radio station had not received any violent threats prior to the shooting.

Look up KPFT. on wiki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KPFT

And our community radio KABF. http://www.kabf.org/?page_id=170

Community radio is threatened all the time. KPFT has the distinction of being blown up twice.

Community radio stations usually have a interesting history

stations that I have heard lean pretty far to the left, even our KABF being started with the help of ACORN.

WORT is an affiliate of the Pacifica network, the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), and the Public Radio Satellite System, which is how it broadcasts programs like the BBC, supplied in the U.S. by American Public Media. The station is also a member of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.

But sounds like just an alternative/folksy music station.
Pacifica in the 60s and 70s in California, where I'm from, was about as radical as you could get on public media in those days.
