LONDON (AP) A London court has found an American political consultant who worked on Ben Carson's 2016 presidential campaign guilty of groping a fellow passenger on a trans-Atlantic flight last month.
Samuel Pimm was convicted of sexual assault Monday following a trial at Ealing Magistrates' Court. He denied touching his female accuser.
Prosecutors say the 62-year-old consumed several alcoholic drinks on the Washington to London flight before he put his hands on a woman in the adjacent seat.
The woman testified that she was trying to sleep when she felt Pimm touching her arm and breast, then moving toward her crotch. His lawyer suggested she might have been dreaming.

A political consultant who worked for the US Republican Party has been found guilty of groping a passenger on a transatlantic flight.
Samuel Pimm, 62, drank a gin and tonic, two small bottles of red wine and three brandies before launching the attack on a woman sitting in the adjacent economy cabin seat, a court heard.
Retired Pimm most recently worked on behalf of Ben Carson during his failed bid for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential campaign.
His victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told how he struck up conversation as she tucked into her onboard meal during the flight from Washington to London Heathrow.
