Ted Cruz asks Trump to campaign for him in Texas

Source: MSN

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has asked President Donald Trump to come to Texas to campaign for him.

During a campaign stop in Seguin late Monday, Cruz said he has reached out to his former rival for the White House to help him with his re-election effort against Democrat Beto O'Rourke.

"I would certainly welcome his support and I hope to see him in Texas," Cruz said, standing outside the Dixie Grill in Seguin. "I think we are likely to see the president down in Texas before the election."

Cruz said while his relationship with Trump has had its "ups and downs" due to their 2016 GOP primary battle, he has tried to become an ally to the President. He said he has been in constant contact with the White House and Trump directly to offer his help in getting legislation through the Senate.

Amazing. Prior to the election, Cruz refuses to endorse Trump, but after the election and thousands of lies and a Russia investigation letter, Cruz comes crawling to Trump to ask for Trump to campaign for him. Maybe Trump can require that Ted Cruz put the sticker, "Yeah, My Dad Assassinated JFK" and "My Wife is Not Nearly As Hot As Melania" on his bumper.

Defiant Ted Cruz stands by refusal to endorse Trump after being booed during convention speech

Cleveland (CNN)Ted Cruz on Thursday strongly defended his refusal to endorse Donald Trump during his Republican National Convention speech, saying he's not "in the habit" of backing politicians who attack his family.

"I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father," Cruz said at a morning meeting where he faced sharp questions from the Texas delegation in Cleveland.

Cruz stood by his decision in a remarkable 25-minute back-and-forth with his own constituents, defying appeals from his own Texas delegation to put the party above his inhibitions and back Trump.

Cruz sensationally withheld an endorsement of Trump in his speech Wednesday, earning a chorus of boos from the floor while getting upstaged in a power play by the GOP nominee himself.

Trump accuses Cruz's father of helping JFK's assassin

Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Ted Cruz's father was with John F. Kennedy's assassin shortly before he murdered the president, parroting a National Enquirer story claiming that Rafael Cruz was pictured with Lee Harvey Oswald handing out pro-Fidel Castro pamphlets in New Orleans in 1963.

A Cruz campaign spokesperson told the Miami Herald, which pointed out numerous flaws in the Enquirer story, that it was "another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage."

"His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being -- you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous," Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. "What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don't even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it."

"I mean, what was he doing -- what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?" Trump continued. "It's horrible."

'The images are worth a thousand words': Trump shares an unflattering photo of Ted Cruz's wife

Donald Trump has shared an unflattering photo of Sen. Ted Cruz's wife, the latest wrinkle in a feud between the two Republican presidential candidates.

The photo was part of a tweet that the GOP frontrunner shared on Wednesday night. The tweet read, "A picture is worth a thousand words," and it featured a photo of Cruz's wife, Heidi, next to a picture of Trump's wife, Melania.

This just goes to show that Ted Cruz's character. Perhaps Ted Cruz will even throw in his children to work in one of the factories making Ivanka's branded clothes.

All I can say is with a voice that sounds like he hasn't hit puberty and then being Donald's poodle after he insulted his wife, I kind of wonder about the Texas definition of manly... or at least the Texan republican definition of it.

I can't think of anything that will get out more Beto voters, than Orange Julius stampeding across the state on your behalf. Desperation looks good on you---that, and your abandonment of whatever courage and personal principles you might have had.
