Clovis police were called and the building housing Congressman Devin Nunes office was locked during a rally for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security on Tuesday.
For more than a year, people have been gathering outside Nunes constituent services office every Tuesday, demanding an appearance from the Republican congressman, who is the chair of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee. The regular protesters say that the office is unstaffed.
On Tuesday, front office staff at the Sentinel Executive Offices called Clovis police on the protesters and kicked members of the media and the public out of the building and locked the door.
Democrat Andrew Janz, who is competing for Nunes congressional seat, said a building employee (who asked not to be named) would not allow him to go upstairs to Nunes office...................

(36,434 posts)Here's the poll for your reading pleasure, and hopefully it becomes the norm, and not just an outlier poll.

Voters in the 22nd district are sharply split on Devin Nunes personally and the job he is doing as
their Congressman. Specifically, the exact same number of voters have a favorable opinion of
him as have an unfavorable opinion of him (44% total favorable to 44% total unfavorable).
Similarly, there are precisely as many voters who want to see Nunes re-elected (46%) as want
someone else to represent them in Congress (46%). In an encouraging finding for Nunes
opponents, there are more voters in the Congressmans district who strongly dislike him
and say they will definitely vote for someone else than who support him. These findings
indicate there is more energy among anti-Nunes voters and that bodes well for Janz benefiting
from good turnout this November.

And that's Nunes.

(36,434 posts)The genuine numbers have closed significantly, and momentum is certainly working in Janz's favor, but my Magic 8-Ball says the ass, Deven Nunes still has to open his pie hole a few more times to close the gap. And the idiot will!
It's gonna be a horse race down to the wire, Baby!

(22,073 posts)He was my congressman when I lived out there. That's a very mixed district, and not many progressives. You have Fresno, which has a little bit of everything, Clovis is more upscale and liberal, then you have the hard core mountain people up where I lived, and big agriculture--Rethug till they die.
It's astounding that a Dem is this close, and would be earth shattering if he wins.

(767 posts)I live in California and my district has a RE-THUG who does NOT live in the district....I just has an address. All the RE-THUGS have a common EVIL which they fail to hide from the public. They depend on morons to elect them. The RE-THUGS are a minority in this state. They are easily elected in the enclaves where IDIOTS live who do not know better when selecting a public servant.......SAD
