Ned Lamont Leads Bob Stefanowski In Quinnipiac Poll Of Governor's Race
Source: Hartford Courant
Democrat Ned Lamont leads Republican Bob Stefanowski by a 46- to 33-percent margin in the first major poll of the gubernatorial race in Connecticut.
"The poll is good news for Ned Lamont," said Quinnipiac University Poll Director Douglas Schwartz. "This is mainly due to strong support among women, and the fact that Connecticut is a Democratic state."
But Schwartz stressed that the general-election campaign is barely a week old, and there are a significant number of undecided voters.
The gender split among voters is dramatic, the independent Q Poll found, with Lamont leading Stefanowski 50 percent to 27 percent among women. Men are more evenly divided, with 40 percent for Lamont and 39 percent for Stefanowski.

This is great news. After 20 years of republican governors, Democrat Dan Malloy won by only 10,000 votes in 2010 and his 2014 re-election was pretty close, too.
While Lamont cruised to the nomination by about 81-19% against ex-con Joe Ganim, there were five republicans beating each other up. Stefanowski won with only 29% of the republican vote.
Barring any big mistakes Lamont should have an easy time of it.
To get an idea of how much of a Democratic state Connecticut is, in the runaway Democratic primary 211,000 voters turned out, while the five-way competitive republican primary drew only 143,000 voters.

I am so hopeful that a big blue wave will wash over some red states too. Enough is enough.
