Allen Weisselberg, Longtime Trump Organization CFO, Is Granted Immunity in Cohen Probe
Source: WSJ
Allen Weisselberg, President Trumps longtime financial gatekeeper, was granted immunity by federal prosecutors for providing information about Michael Cohen in the criminal investigation into hush-money payments for two women during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to people familiar with the matter.
Mr. Weisselberg was called to testify before a federal grand jury in the investigation earlier this year, The Wall Street Journal previously reported, citing people familiar with the investigation.
The decision by prosecutors in the Manhattan U.S. attorneys office to grant immunity to Mr. Weisselberg escalates the pressure on Mr. Trump, whom Mr. Weisselberg has served for decades as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Trump Organization. After Mr. Trump was elected, he handed control of his financial assets and business interests to his two adult sons and Mr. Weisselberg.

Mr. Weisselberg didnt respond to a request for comment. A lawyer for Mr. Trump, who on Thursday said so-called flipping almost ought to be illegal, declined to comment.

(23,946 posts)ago regarding Cohen...before this was suspected but may just have been a formal interview not under oath with fed prosecutors in NY...now we know it was total immunity...but with regard to evidence on Cohen.
How much he talked, or legally has to tale, seeing how Trump was outside the scope of the grand jury probe other than as an unindicted co-conspirator, if prosecutors got the mother lode - the taxes.

I find myself thinking - at THIS late date, after everything that's come out so far, if they STILL stand with him, then what does that say about THEM? If they supported him originally but have come to their senses, that's different. But those who should know better by now, then it seems time to wonder what that says about THEM.

(23,946 posts)Cohen's testimony and the paper trail leading back to Trump and Trump companies and shell companies created by Cohen for the hush money. Guilty Plea!
Also, Weisselberg is no doubt cooperating in the Pecker prove, for the same reason, the paper trail and corroboration of Pecker. Pecker would have pled guilty also, but turned rat for complete immunity. Alarm the CFO of AMI granted full immunity. The target there is...Trump himself directly...indictments yet to fall. And of course both cases are intertwined by being coverups orchestrated by Trump using Weissleberg as the conductor for the purpose of skirting campaign finance laws and misleading those who sold publication rights to evil AIM...never to be seen again...until a Storm hit town.
I agree Trump looks doomed on both matters, but having to release the entire tax returns as relevant may be a stretch...fingers crossed a judge authorized a warrant.

He'll know where all the financial bodies are buried - whether Trump borrowed money from the Russians to survive, etc.
Probably not nearly as interesting as paying off a porn star but far more deadly in terms of tax evasion, collusion, bank fraud, money laundering, etc for Trump.
The toilet bowl of this administration is really starting to swirl

Corrupt criminals do this and act out this way, never innocent people. Only people corrupt protect themselves from an ongoing investigation into their wrongdoings and crimes. Wesselburg is just another person not willing to protect criminal trump, and others close to trump will be turning on him too, because they know he will on them if he has the chance.

..........
....Weisselberg has extensive knowledge of the Trump Organizations operations. Trumps trust in him was deep enough that he regularly had Weisselberg prepare his personal tax returns and sign off on the financial details of the companys deals. He also had a prominent position inside the presidents troubled charitable foundation. And he, along with the presidents two eldest sons, oversees the trust that Trump set up to manage his interests in the Trump Organization while hes in the White House.
That kind of knowledge is likely to be of great interest to investigators, who long ago signaled that they might take a closer look at the presidents business dealings. They may be inclined to put the kind of pressure on Weisselberg that would strain his loyalties to Trump.
I wonder who the poor shit will be that takes Weisselberg's place? Can't see him continuing on with Trump now.......

That's how he connects with his supporters, he says he is a victim , then claims they are too , just like he is, and bonds with them over all his lies. Then he expands the lie(s) and takes it to even greater levels . He makes people feel victimized , and then claims he is too being victimized.
