Trump: Woodward has had 'a lot of credibility problems'

Source: The Hill

BY TAL AXELROD - 09/04/18 04:30 PM EDT

President Trump slammed Bob Woodward after excerpts were released of the Watergate reporter's latest book detailing the inner workings of the Trump White House.

“It’s just another bad book. He’s had a lot of credibility problems," Trump told The Daily Caller in an interview in the Oval Office. "I probably would have preferred to speak to him, but maybe not. I think it probably wouldn’t have made a difference in the book. He wanted to write the book a certain way."

“It’s just nasty stuff. I never spoke to him. Maybe I wasn’t given messages that he called. I probably would have spoken to him if he’d called, if he’d gotten through. For some reason I didn’t get messages on it,” he added. Trump denied specific allegations and said the stories could have come from disgruntled employees or were perhaps “made up by the author.”

The president's comments were published not long after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released her own statement regarding Woodward's book.

"I never spoke to him. Maybe I wasn’t given messages that he called. I probably would have spoken to him if he’d called, if he’d gotten through. For some reason I didn’t get messages on it,”

One of the main things in the book is how his staff keeps, or even hides, things from him to prevent him from doing damage. Sounds like that happened here.

Read the transcript of his phone call to Woodward.....it is exactly what happened

BW asked 6 or more people for an interview with Trump and they all buried it

And yeah, the main theme of the book is keeping things away from the big baby so he don't break them

missed a golden opportunity. He should have extended the opportunity to sit down for a candid one on one recorded discussion that would be printed in its entirety in the next edition of the book. If Trump has a great story to tell, then this would be a chance for him to tell it.

Do we believe an internationally renowned reporter who has won every major journalism award over the course of his career, including two Pulitzer prizes, or a clownish, orange-faced, degenerate narcissist who lies like most people breathe air?

Hmmm....

2 Pulitzer prizes up against cheeto's self promoted Nobel he wanted any day for who has credibility now. Cheeto's deep state is really the truth. He hates the truth , and it hurts his propaganda when its used against him.

and one conspired with a hostile foreign government to take over the office of the president. He has no credibility with at least 60% of Americans, we know he's the biggest liar ever. As I always say, if his tiny little orange fingers, or his ugly orange assmouth is moving, he's lying. The nation trusts and maybe even reveres Woodward, drumpf's CONSTANT lies create disdain in everyone but KKK, Nazis, white nationalist, oligarchs and Russians. Actually Russians probably disdain him as well, but he's their useful idiot until they decide to destroy him.

The rock-solid credibility of Woodward and Bernstein's investigative journalism led to the downfall of a president who had been re-elected by a landslide. Trump's defense strategy has always been to go after the most credible sources. His constant rantings about CNN as being the "fake news" is a classic example.
