Dianne Feinstein Acknowledges Having A Secret Brett Kavanaugh Document

Source: Huffington Post

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” Feinstein said in a statement. “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

The California Democrat, who is the senior minority member on the committee, had thus far refused to answer questions about the document, which was first reported by The Intercept.

Multiple sources have told HuffPost that the document in question is a letter sent to Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) that concerns a decades-old incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman. Eshoo’s office has also declined to comment, saying the letter was considered casework ― and thus wouldn’t be made public ― since it came from a constituent.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) told BuzzFeed Thursday that the matter had been referred to the FBI. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

This was the blueprint, written back around 1971, commissioned by the US Chamber of Commerce, which was upset with what it had been seeing from the 1960s - the social revolution 1) against the Vietnam war, 2) for greater civil rights, 3) for greater women's rights, 4) for sexual liberation in general, 5) anti-capitalist/corporatist.

Written by Lewis Powell, an attorney who would soon be successfully nominated by Richard Nixon to the Supreme Court.

Establish lots of "think tanks" and "institutes" and "foundations" to develop policy YOUR way, and bring in people who can write position papers and conduct "studies" to provide validation for YOUR policies. High-'n'-mighty titles to those organizations certainly helps enhance their image with a gullible public - that really just starves for validation of the cockamamie regressive 6th-century-BC belief systems they still embrace.

Build your own media that pushes YOUR message and YOUR world view and all that raw material conveniently generated by those "think tanks" and "institutions" and "foundations" (thus, Limbaugh and hate radio, and Pox Noise).

School and groom YOUR talent - people who can press the message to the public, either because they've been trained to do so for on-camera, or you provide them publishing arms under which they can write books, or you take over or establish newspapers where they can be installed as op/ed columnists. Then, with all these new "bona fides" on their "resumes" as published "best-selling" "authors" (because your organization bought up mass quantities of books to up the sales numbers), guess who can get hired for on-camera talking heads and "analysts" and "experts," thus further burnishing their "reputations" for the future.

They've been at this since Nixon's downfall - which was probably red-alert time for them, recognizing how much control that cost them politically. They sure regrouped in a hurry. The Democrats gained ONE foothold, with Jimmy Carter, in 1976. And that was IT. ONE term and then reagan took over in 1980. That was IT, til 1992 when Bill Clinton grabbed the White House away from George "he was entitled to TWO terms!!!" Bush Sr. - in 1992.

Quite frankly, I can't help but suspect that THIS is the seed of Clinton-hatred. THIS is how all that extreme, ridiculously disproportionate, and totally nonsensical white-hot hatred of Bill and Hillary Clinton began, and how even these many years later, it hasn't subsided. Of course, by now, virtually nobody on that side of The Aisle of Dim-Bulbs thinks back that far, or remembers much of the details that led up to it. And some of 'em are too young to have gone through it. All they know is that "Bill and Hillary BAAAAD!", so that's that. They just know that you hate Bill and Hillary. PERIOD. Because Clinton. Because We Hate All Things Clinton. Because! Just BECAUSE!!! It's knee-jerk time for the jerk contingent. Poor pathetic sops. What will they do when there's no more Bill-and-Hillary some day? Who will they hate that badly? Besides President Obama, that is?

Given that Newt Gingrich was cheating on his then 2nd wife with his later 3rd wife during the Clinton impeachment, Kavanaugh assaulting or harassing a woman whilst being high and mighty about Clinton's behavior is exactly out of the GOP playbook. Hypocrisy and projection, always hypocrisy and projection.

They have Kavanaugh dead to rights about his lying about the stolen computer data
from democratic members of congress during 2001-2003 and "they" don't care.

Hell, some woman sat behind Kavanaugh flashing a white power sign on more than
one time during his hearings. And nobody really said a damn thing. We are way way
down the rabbit hole right now.

But I am fed up with all this "requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further," line. If that was the case, then why bother to write the letter at all ? Did the person think that this would NOT grab the attention of our amoral, derailed culture ? If they wanted to remain confidential, this is, most assuredly, NOT the way to ensure that. Now the stampede will be on to uncover both the individual and the content of the letter and will reach fevered pitch by the media.

I understand the need for anonymous sources, but it seems line NO ONE will take ownership of their own dialogue. I'm tired of this.

on something like this that reportedly involves sexual assault. You either have to be all in and ready to be in the public eye or you just keep staying quiet. Now regardless of the writer wanting to stay anonymous, it will be impossible. She might as well get a lawyer and come forward with her story.

Whatever it is, it can't be a point of law, as there would be a statute of limitations involved. It can't be about a crime, as there would be a record available. Not to mention the he said/she said circle. So what does that leave but something deeply personal ? Well, it's about to become very public soon. Hope she's ready for the tidal wave that's going to engulf her.
