Republicans defeat Democratic push for docs on Trump-Putin summit

Source: The Hill

House Republicans on Thursday rejected a push by Democrats to obtain documents from the Trump administration about President Trump’s one-on-one summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in July.

Democrats on the House Foreign Affairs Committee rallied behind a resolution that would have directed the executive branch to send to Congress “copies of all documents, records, communications, transcripts, summaries, notes, memoranda, and read-aheads” related to Trump’s summit with Putin in Helsinki over the summer.

Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Pa.) introduced the measure as a “resolution of inquiry,” which under House rules must be considered by a committee within 14 legislative days, or else its sponsors can force a vote on the House floor.

Lawmakers on the committee voted along party lines to reject the effort Thursday afternoon.

Trump endured a barrage of criticism, including from Republicans, following the summit, during which he appeared to cast doubt on the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment about Russian election interference at a press conference alongside Putin. The president later walked back the remarks, saying he misspoke.

It WAS good that they forced a vote on this. Now when they lie about it (and they WILL), we have irrefutable proof. What possible reason could they have for this?

Its a play on The Big Lie. They've just expanded the strategy. ie..."Surely they wouldn't be committing treason right in front of us would they?". Uh yes they are.

Okay..I know this could be applied in almost any day in this sham presidency, but once in awhile, I just have to swing back to...What if a Democrat were in a similar situation? Which wouldn't happen of course, because no Democratic candidate would deal with a foreign power to steal an election. But for the sake of argument, lets say Hillary or Obama ten years ago, went in league with Chaves or Maduro, a left equivalent of a semi dictatorship, under the guise of democracy. And the Venezuelans had a crack team of social media propagandist experts and hackers that had info on the Republican party's campaign and even promised dirt on Trump (but then how hard would that have been?) And there were proven meetings between Venezuelan agents and Hillary's campaign members.

And with Trump leading the polls and everyone expecting him to win....guess what? Hillary somehow squeeks a win out!

Then it comes out from intelligence services that Venezuela was definitely screwing with our elections in order for Hillary to win.

But it doesn't stop there. After Democrats majorities fail to do anything other than passing sanctions which Hillary immediately cancels, a special investigation with a Democrat leading it is formed to look into it. And after a few months 5 of Hillary's former staff or lawyers are charged with crimes. Still Democrats sit on their hands, appealing to the 30% of better-dead-than-red die hard Democrats, over the national will.

Then

then

Hillary flies over to a third party moderate south American country to have a secret meeting, with only translators allowed, with Maduro, amidst much criticism from the, what Hillary likes to call, the "phony news".

Back in DC, the Republicans, almost besides themselves, ask for a vote on finding out what was said, any documents from that meeting. To which Democrats say no, we don't think so.

I mean.....WTF people.

This seems like one big social experiment to see just how far this can go until people wake up from the matrix and look around and take in the depth of these assholes betrayal.
