Trump tariffs put Missouri Senate candidate Hawley in a bind

Source: AP

In Missouri, Hawley said he supports Trump's goal of getting tough with trading partners to get better deals for the U.S. and urges patience to see results from the negotiations. The Trump administration recently said it reached a deal with Mexico to update the North American Free Trade Agreement and is now negotiating with Canada to finalize it.

In an August letter to Deacero , Hawley said the company makes a strong case for an exemption and urges the Department of Commerce to grant it quickly.

But an exemption is unlikely to be granted quickly. The federal government has been deluged with requests for exemptions, the process is slow and some U.S. steel producers have objected to Mid Continent getting favorable treatment, saying the company could switch to U.S. suppliers.

Pratt said the plant also buys American steel, but he said there's not enough to meet the company's needs and noted that domestic prices rose steeply with the tariffs.

What Missouri farmer would not be content with a free hat for sacrificing his livelihood so that Trump can rake in more money for himself?

It amazes me that McCaskill is even in a heated race with this Doofus. My opinion of the people in Missouri has really taken a hit in recent years. Hang these fucking tariffs around his neck. Maybe if enough people see the damage they're directly suffering, they'll kick this Asshole to the curb.

planned, don't know when yet. But this guy is backed by the Koch brothers and that is one thing I can't stand, an outsider telling Missourians what to do or vote for. The ads being run for those for Josh H. are filled of lies also w/ so called financial padding of their wallets (the McCaskills) so false ads, multiple false claims of what's needed, lying, money from outside the state, seem to be Josh Hawley's ticket to the senate. He was the attorney general of MO when Eric Greitens resigned as governor of Missouri, and he joined forces w/ other republican attorney generals to take away people's health insurance (repeal the ACA).

He seems to claim that the economy/businesses seems to need help or is being held back, when the stock markets and all have been up for about 10 years. Go figure.

Another typical politician, because he needs to save Missouri from what? Other republicans? This is all Missouri has had, a republican governor and a republican-controlled congress (he actually said this, needs to save MO). So what does he need to save MO from?

Claire has actually done a good job, but of course republicans won't say this. If anything, I guarantee you that as a congress person, Claire and Blunt have probably voted in step w/ each other on quite a few issues, that all Missourians would want. Let's see what Josh H. says about this.

Trump is The Devil incarnate, and he ties his followers up in knots the same way he punishes those who hate him. He has no soul. He has no humanity. Follow him and you perish for all eternity.

Trump heading to Missouri as Republicans eye key Senate seat

Source: AP

JEFFERSON CITY (AP) — President Donald Trump is coming to Missouri as he pushes for Republican Josh Hawley to unseat Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in a critical Senate race.

Trump's campaign on Friday announced the planned Sept. 21 rally in Springfield, Missouri.

McCaskill is a top target for Republicans seeking to expand the party's slim 51-49 edge in the Senate. She is among 10 Senate Democrats up for re-election this year in states that Trump won. She's considered among the most vulnerable incumbents as she faces Hawley, the state's attorney general.

Trump won Missouri by 18 percentage points in 2016.
