FBI, DOJ Plan Redactions Despite Trump's Document Order

The agencies can’t offer a timeline to finish their review

Holding back information could spark confrontation with Trump

President Donald Trump has demanded the “immediate declassification” of sensitive materials about the Russia investigation, but the agencies responsible are expected to propose redactions that would keep some information secret, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence are going through a methodical review and can’t offer a timeline for finishing, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly about the sensitive matter.

The White House issued a statement on Monday listing material that Trump wants declassified immediately, echoing demands of Republican lawmakers who share his contention that the continuing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was tainted by anti-Trump bias well before Robert Mueller was named special counsel to run it.

Among Trump’s demands was the full public release of all text messages concerning the Russia probe by Justice Department official Bruce Ohr and by several former officials, including two who were fired -- former FBI Director James Comey and his deputy, Andrew McCabe. One person described the order to release text messages as unprecedented, and another said additional talks will probably be held with the White House over the matter.

There will be some information in this release that it will somehow magically fix trumps presidency.

Hannity can't believe it would take over 48 hours for this stuff to be released.

the President of the United States of America! Never did I think I would live to see a US president bent on the destruction of our country. The baffling thing is there doesn't seem to be any way to stop this mad man and his cabal before our country goes down. They are destroying the US on all fronts, including on the financial level according to the latest deficit numbers.

Now they finally have a president who isn't coy about it.

Someday trumpft will be gone, but the repubs will continue in this toxic manner, just with slightly more subterfuge. Though if trumpft has taught them one thing, it's that being obnoxious and obvious will work for them.

He promised Vlad (aka Master) that he'd find out how we got the information that he was hacking us and nothing else will do. Destroying our national security is what he sees as one of this top missions, along with destroying NATO and liberal democracies everywhere.
