A top professor at Yale Law School who strongly endorsed supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a mentor to women privately told a group of law students last year that it was not an accident that Kavanaughs female law clerks all looked like models and would provide advice to students about their physical appearance if they wanted to work for him, the Guardian has learned.
Amy Chua, a Yale professor who wrote a bestselling book on parenting called Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, was known for instructing female law students who were preparing for interviews with Kavanaugh on ways they could dress to exude a model-like femininity to help them win a post in Kavanaughs chambers, according to sources.
Kavanaugh is facing intense scrutiny in Washington following an allegation made by Christine Blasey Ford that he forcibly held her down and groped her while they were in high school. He has denied the allegation. The accusation has mired Kavanaughs confirmation in controversy, drawing parallels to allegations of sexual harassment against Justice Clarence Thomas by Anita Hill in the 1990s.
Yale provided Kavanaugh with many of the judges clerks over the years, and Chua played an outsized role in vetting the clerks who worked for him. But the process made some students deeply uncomfortable.

(13,921 posts)The R's are gonna vote him in, 50+Pence. Doesn't matter what is said, done, proven, alleged, testified to, etc. Slimy K could admit to trying to rape Ford in the hearing monday, promise to do it again, and then go nude streaking through the halls of congress while groping every female member of the senate, and they would still put him in 50+pence. They are too far down the rabbit hole to do anything else.

of Kavanaughs clerks and whether or not all the women have a certain look. It would also be interesting to see if there was any diversity.
BTW, Zina Bash is a former clerk for Kavanaugh. Remember her? She has the look. She was the woman who sat behind him at the hearing and flashed a white power sign. Twice.

(15,751 posts)A new principal at the school for several years, hired all women, reasonably attractive, all with exceptionally big breasts. It was so conspicuous.
Power, and some people, are not a good combination.

(32,791 posts)It's the same Amy Chua. She and her husband are both law professors and well-connected in those circles.
