McConnell Tells Conservatives To 'Keep The Faith' On Kavanaugh Confirmation
Source: TPM
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told listeners at the annual Values Voter summit to keep the faith and not get rattled by tactics being used to keep Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh off the bench.
Youve watched the fight, youve watched the tactics. But heres what I want to tell you: in the very near future, Judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court, he said to a swell of applause. So my friends, keep the faith and dont get rattled by all of this. Were gonna plow right through it and do our job.
McConnell did not mention the upcoming hearing with Kavanaugh and professor Christine Blasey Ford where Republicans claim to want to hear both accounts of the alleged sexual assault. His comments do not seem to display any desire on his part to hear her out in a way that could disqualify Kavanaugh from contention.
McConnell also patted himself on the back for keeping Merrick Garland off of the bench, calling it one of the most important things he has done as majority leader.

The only way to avoid it is for voters to bombard Republican Senators who are up for election in 2018 to tell them if they vote to confirm, they're going to lose.

(58,445 posts)If McConnell had faith in Constitutional process, he would've at the very least given Garland a hearing.
If McConnell had faith in Constitutional process, he wouldn't be trying to ramrod a flawed candidate into the highest court in the land without holding extensive hearings and investigation into the charges against Kavanaugh.
McConnell's mind was made up to support whoever Trump nominated regardless of the nominee.
McConnell has no faith, he's bankrupt in that department subverting whatever speck of faith he had to cynical, self-serving political machinations.
Thanks for the thread demmiblue.

(11,885 posts)By showing everyone how they treat the abuse of women, and how they use their power to intimidate , and demonize them over men every time. Treating someone who has been attacked like this is horrific, and suggesting they are the liar is typical from monsters like trump and the kgop. They refuse to get the truth for fear he'll be exposed more, which he probably would be. The Senators are running from the truth now to get him into position for self protection, which is very criminal. This will backfire badly on them, and just incite many more people to vote against them , then reverse this appointment with impeachment of him. The majority against kavanaugh is huge , and will show them at this upcoming election how badly they've screwed up.

(11,885 posts)Its called co-conspirators after they connect the dots you and kavanaugh and others were all knowingly involved with putin and russia influence. Every Senator that votes for him that has connections with russian, or putin money funneled to them with the NRA or others will be conspiring to do this to protect putin , trump , and themselves , and they will be found guilty doing this. They're digging themselves their own graves now doing this.
