LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Police say a 5-year-old Arkansas boy was playing with a gun that he found when it accidentally fired, killing him.

Little Rock police Lt. Michael Ford says Brennan Esau was home with his siblings aged 14, 10 and 6, but no adults, when he shot himself Saturday night.

Ford says Brennan was alone in the room where he found the gun in the southwest Little Rock home.

No one has been arrested. Ford says a report will be turned over to the prosecutor's office to determine whether charges will be filed.

The gun was accidentally in the home, the gun was accidentally in a place where the child could accidentally find it, the gun was accidentally loaded, the gun was accidentally fired, and the gun accidentally killed the child.

Did I miss any accidents?

by a child should face charges just the same as if they had fired it themselves. This is criminal negligence.

He too decided to "play" with the rifle that was hung above the fire place in the home while mom and dad were out.

They came home to a bloody mess.

They have paid the price which has been years of feeling like pure sh*t for having that loaded rifle in a place that was accessible enough to reach.

They never got over it. Never.

They were never charged with any sort of crime.

How dare they leave a loaded, unlocked, weapon where a child can get it? 4 children in the house, the oldest only 14 and the youngest 5 and they still don't know think that securing the gun by locking it, then putting it in a safe, locked place where the kids can't get it?
