Trump praises Kim Jong Un's 'courage' in UN address

President Trump praised North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and hailed ongoing efforts to denuclearize the Korean peninsula during a Tuesday speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

The president proclaimed that "the missiles and rockets are no longer flying in every direction," and that the "specter of conflict" has been replaced with a "push for peace."

"I would like to thank Chairman Kim for his courage and for the steps he has taken, though much work remains to be done," Trump said.

"I also want to thank the many member states who helped us reach this moment," he added. "A moment that is actually far greater than people would understand. Far greater.”

That a tear will form in the corner of their eyes and they will choke back emotion thinking "He really really likes me" And that "maybe I've been wrong all these years, now that they have a truly great leader that understands how important me and my country are, I'm going to do whatever he say's to do".

Do these authoritarians like Un and Putin relish compliments as Trump does? Yes of course. I'm sure they feed off it as well. But they are also 10x smarter. And know also that Trump does not speak for everyone in the US, and see his approval numbers. And know how much he lies. Their attitude can be described by conjuring up the expression of Kim Jong Un's face watching Donnie salute one of his generals. One word says it "bemused".

Putin’s mission to reduce the USA’s stature in the world is going so well, there’s no need for him to show up at the U.N.

We must regain control of the House, Senate and as many state and local seats as we can in November. Otherwise, Randy Rainbow’s line about our becoming a 1950’s version of the USSR (Russia) will no longer be parody!
