Brett Kavanaugh: Grassley Demands Christine Blasey Ford's Therapy Notes
Source: The Daily Beast
The Senate Judiciary Committees Republican chairman demanded more evidence late Tuesday from Christine Blasey Fords attorneys to support her sexual-misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, including notes from her therapy sessions, recordings of the lie-detector test she took, and exchanges she had with reporters. In a letter addressed to Fords attorneys, Sen. Chuck Grassley said more evidence was needed to evaluate the allegations before voting on the nomination of President Trumps Supreme Court pickexpected to take place by the end of the week. Grassley also questioned the truthfulness of Fords testimony, saying her account raises specific concerns about the reliability of her polygraph examination results. When she testified before the Judiciary Committee last week about the alleged attack, Ford denied that she had ever spoken to anyone but her attorneys about how to take a lie-detector test.

Grassley Demands Christine Blasey Fords Therapy Notes
October 3, 2018 at 7:05 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 34 Comments
Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Charles Grassley (R-IA) sent a letter to Christine Blasey Fords attorneys, requesting evidence to buttress her sexual assault claim that has put Judge (Brett) Kavanaugh on trial before the nation, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Grassley said that Dr. Fords attorneys have withheld evidence that senators need to evaluate the allegations before voting on the nomination of President Trumps Supreme Court pick.
Mr. Grassley requested notes from Dr. Fords therapy sessions, recordings of the lie detector test she took, and exchanges she had with the news media. The two-page letter also questioned Dr. Fords truthfulness.

(9,426 posts)yet refuses to release Kavanaugh's notes from his years working for Dubya, plus Ken Starr? How screwed up is this "panel" of gop relics? The democratic members of the government can not even see the notes from tRump's meeting with Putin behind closed doors, yet they DEMAND personal doctor's notes from therapy sessions from a private citizen? God help this country if they are not thrown out of power.

(54,436 posts)If there is another postponement, then we know Flake and Collins (at the very least) have said they are still uncomfortable with the nomination. If the vote is forced early, it probably means Flake and Collins have caved. We need TWO Republican Senators to stop this creep from joining the SCOTUS (incredible as that may seem). One alone means Ayatollah Pence gets the tie-break vote.

(11,885 posts)He won't pass, and a lot more soon will expose him and others even more, and expose trump and the gop knew all along he was a predator , and has addictions, and has lied, a lot to Congress. trump's so desperate for him being his protector he now has limited this investigation to undermine justice, which again will be shown to be another charge of obstructing justice, and many will be charged with co-conspirators with him. They're digging their own graves doing this now. trump is in deep trouble also if its exposed kavanaugh has russian and putin money ties in any way . I do expect that to come out if he has. Others also in the GOP will be exposed if they have ties also. Kavanaugh is their get out of jail free card , and trumps getting more desperate every day it closes in on him more. kavanaughs done , and trump is getting closer to it too.

(11,841 posts)Then denies to the Senate ever talking to anyone about them? Certainly doesnt look good.
This show is getting crazier by the day.

(1,142 posts)I think when Ford denied talking to anyone about her polygraphs tests specifically related to her memory of the event with Kavanaugh
I don't think it was her intention to deny ever talking about a polygraph test in general? That was my take watching her testify

(11,841 posts)As I remember, Ford said under oath that she had never given any tips or advice to anyone who was planning on taking or preparing for a polygraph test.
Now I need to see the actual video if I can find it.
But your view shows how the waters can be muddied. 2 different opinions of the same topic. Just like people saying Kav has lied about his drinking. Its subjective depending on who is doing the thinking.

(1,142 posts)But from my recollection this question was asked to her in reference to who recommended that she take a polygraph once she came forward about this incident, and who she discussed that with but I may be confusing this with who recommended her attorneys

The judiciary committee could issue a subpoena and not get much.

(22,149 posts)And I can't remember if she said they mentioned Kavenaugh by name. But she certainly told her husband at the same time, and they're not about to subpoena him.
They don't get to demand these notes, without giving over the hundreds of documents they withheld on Kav, AND postponing the vote while they are reviewed.
