BOISE, Idaho (CBS 2) An Idaho Fish and Game commissioner who emailed photos of himself posing with a family of baboons he shot and killed during a recent hunting trip in Africa has led to a group of former commissioners asking for his resignation.
According to emails and photos obtained by CBS 2 News through Gov. Butch Otter's office, commissioner Blake Fischer emailed several pictures of his kills to numerous people highlighting his hunting trip.
. . .
He begins the email saying he and his wife had just returned from a two-week hunting trip to Namibia.
"First day she wanted to watch me, and 'get a feel' of Africa," Fischer said in the email obtained through the governor's office. "So I shot a whole family of baboons."

(19,204 posts)watch these majestic creatures in their natural habitat and be amazed at the diversity of life on our planet. They just want to make things dead. It gives them a false feeling of superiority over the rest of the animal kingdom. In a fair fight these animals would tear these assholes to bits, yet somehow with guns that could shoot through an APC, these dullards feel smug and superior to their quarry.
I detest people like this. Just like Trump's ne'er-do-well sons, Qusay and Uday, who will kill an elephant so they can have it's tail to swat flies with. I can only hope that one day the tables will be turned on them, and they can have the pleasure of being eaten alive by a pride of Lions.

(9,426 posts)baboons have a real "family values" ethic. Animals take care of their families, love them, keep them close. This idiot and his wife are repulsive. Despicable to shoot innocent animals.

(1,127 posts)Really? How brave! Does anyone want to bet that this "great" white "hunter" and his scum wife were thinking of the Obamas while perpetrating this carnage? I'm sure that this was well received by many of the deplorables. The slaughter of these magnificent, defenseless creatures may be "legal", but it's time for the decent members of society to eradicate vermin like Fischer from our midst.

(22,166 posts)obviously is in the wrong job (F and G of all things). Some people only get sexually aroused when they kill and main something. I'd take a closer look at this guy too, check his past. Usually from what I hear, there is history behind some of this actions.

(160,623 posts)Idaho Fish and Game Commissioner Blake Fischer resigns after bragging about killing a family of baboons

Idaho Fish and Game Commissioner Blake Fischer resigned Monday after bragging about killing a family of baboons and other animals during a hunting trip to Africa.
In the middle of September, Fischer sent an email to more than 100 friends and colleagues recapping his recent hunting trip to Namibia.
"I have high expectations and standards for every appointee in state government," said Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter in a statement announcing Fischer's resignation. "Every member of my administration is expected to exercise good judgment. Commissioner Fischer did not. Accordingly, I have accepted his resignation from the Idaho Fish and Game Commission."
Along with the email, obtained by CNN, Fischer attached 12 pictures of himself and his wife standing over various kills: an oryx, a giraffe, a waterbuck, a leopard and, perhaps most notably, a group of four dead baboons.
