Hours after CNN’s New York headquarters were evacuated when an explosive device was found mailed to the building, President Donald Trump‘s campaign sent out a fundraising email blasting the network.

Reporter Yashar Ali tweeted out a screenshot of the fundraising email, signed by Lara Trump, which included a “Media Accountability Survey.”

“It’s time for us to give the media another wake-up call from the American people,” the email says. The first question of the survey is: “Do you trust the mainstream media to put the interests of Americans first?”

As Ali noted in his tweet, the emails are set up in advance, though one would’ve expected the campaign to put a hold on CNN-bashing fundraising emails as the network’s staff awaits the conclusion of a bomb threat.

Trump campaign chief apologizes for email criticizing CNN in wake of evacuation

BY MICHAEL BURKE - 10/24/18 03:49 PM EDT

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale on Wednesday apologized for an email sent by the campaign earlier that day criticizing CNN.

The email, which was sent after CNN had been evacuated due to a suspicious package, attacked the network and featured a "media accountability survey," which purported to help fight "fake news' attacks" and "bias against hardworking Americans." The email was signed by Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law and senior adviser to his reelection campaign.

Parscale said in a statement to CNN that the email "unfortunately was a pre-programmed, automated message that was not caught before the news broke."

"We apologize for this," Parscale added. "We in no way condone violence against anyone who works for CNN, or anyone else."

Of course it was and "programs" can be "cancelled" too but you just go with that.

Love that you are turning to this atrocity with positive pushback. Hope many more people react in this way. When they go low, we get mad and respond with positive actions!!!

There is no room for apologies in politics today. You either get it right from the start or take the label and the consequences.
