President Trumps approval rating stands at 39 percent, down 3 percentage points from last month, according to a new poll released Friday.
The NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that 39 percent of American adults approve of Trumps job performance, compared to 53 percent who disapprove. Eight percent of respondents were unsure.
That rating is a 3 percentage drop from his 42 percent approval rating the same day last month, which is his personal best in the Marist poll.
Trump's approval ratings have been historically low compared to past presidents throughout his presidency, though recent surveys have shown his figures climbing into the mid-40s just in time for the midterms.

The Red part of the country is getting worse and worse as far as I can tell. Trumped up fear really works for them.

(14,837 posts)Marist is A rated by 538.
But notice that the 38% number is ALL Adults. Not likely or even registered voters. He has a higher fav rating with RV's.
Not much, but higher. Still, the important part is the change, not the absolute.

(9,865 posts).....a little depleted by NPR reporting today that Beto is down in the polls. And other drear news one hears about the energy in the T base, who insist that the caravan and Kavanugh are enrgizing them greatly. Not to mention the many voter suppression messures going on. But yes, all that has nothing to do with the NPR/Marist poll.

(8,758 posts)Everybody knows it, even Beto. Texas is that messed up, but its changing. Texas has been trending purple for a while, but isn't quite there. It will be a swing state like Florida in a generation.
Still, its amazing Beto is even this close. Just goes to show you how unpopular Republicans are right now.

(616 posts)I can't believe that any NPR regular listener EVER supported trump, so I can't believe that this poll could show a decline for him. Everyone knows that NPR listeners are smarter and better informed than other media followers.
I wonder how NPR listeners would compare in general against, say, "Fox" listeners.

(14,837 posts)In addition to the riech wing media wurlitzer blaring out positives, tiny has what amounts to a national GOP campaign aligning candidates with him, and praising him.
For the most part, dems have ignored him and are focussing on local issues like health care.
So there is a net residual positive image of him being portrayed, at least in campaign ads, appearances, and the reich media.
Nothing we can do about that except $100M to tear him down in the next two weeks. He is of course, tiny the terrible, so he is his own worst pr agent.

(14,837 posts)I saw that and threw up in my mouth a little. But the number he used is an average of polls, using likely voters.
The 38% number is All Adults. The LV number for even this poll is higher (42%?). The numbers that boy wonder used were (I think) cook averages of likely voters.
Even nate silver at 538 has trump at almost 43%, a nearly high point. Nate also averages all polls, with some weighting.
But remember the averages include some highly suspect polls. But they assume there are suspect polls on each end so the average is more accurate.
Ignore the absolute value, and focus on the delta's. Hopefully they go back down now the magabomber is focussing peoples attention.

(2,640 posts)Even CNN have become Trump bootlickers.
The MAGABomber bumped Gillum's Hamilton tickets off their top headline though.
of the country are white supremacist cultists. It's scary that he can fuck up so much, sexually assault women, steal from childrens' cancer charities, say he believes Putin over US intel, sleep with a porn star while married and pay her with campaign finances, etc, etc, and ONLY 53 percent of people disapprove?! WTF is wrong with half of America?!!
