One week from Election Day, McCaskill wants to focus on Hawley's 'sham' Confide invest

While Greitens' tenure has faded as a campaign issue in recent months, McCaskill's campaign manager David Kirby said Tuesday he wanted to "refocus" attention to the Confide investigation during the campaign's final days.

Hawley, at a campaign stop in St. Joseph, suggested McCaskill, a Democrat, was desperate to find an issue on which to attack him one week before the two face each other at the polls.

"That sounds like a desperate tactic to me," Hawley told reporters on Tuesday. "She's flailing around."

But, Hawley declined to talk about the probe.
