Trump Slams 'Vicious' Kavanaugh Accuser for 'Made Up' Claim

President Trump on Saturday lashed out at a woman he described as a “vicious accuser” of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after the Senate Judiciary Committee said she admitted her sexual assault allegations against him were made up. The president appeared to be reacting to news that the Senate Judiciary Committee referred a woman named Judy Munro-Leighton to the Justice Department after concluding that she was a “left-wing activist” who is “decades older” than Kavanaugh and whose allegations were “materially false.” The claims of Munro-Leighton, who initially identified herself only as "Jane Doe," were barely reported during Kavanaugh's confirmation process, unlike the allegations against him by Christine Blasey Ford. Yet Trump appeared to use the little known accuser’s retraction of her story to cast new doubt on all of Kavanaugh's accusers. “Can you imagine if he didn’t become a Justice of the Supreme Court because of her disgusting False Statements,” Trump wrote, saying she’d admitted that her allegations were “totally made up, or FAKE.” “What about the others? Where are the Dems on this?” he wrote.
