McConnell led the GOP to victory in the midterm Senate elections, albeit by a narrow margin. Republicans have a 51-47 advantage in the chamber, with races in Florida and Mississippi unresolved.

I think these are just the initial votes and once they are all sworn in for the formal start of the new session, they vote again. Except for Nelson's election & the runoff in MS with Espy, the rest of the Senate is pretty much done. The House elections will be later.

(53,843 posts)right wing judges Schumer acquiesced to, but Pelosi who fund raised fantastically and helped engineer our winning blue wave is in danger of getting pushed out of her leadership position.
What the hell is that? Misogyny? Because the repugs don't like her? WTF?

(129,440 posts)Feinstein (since '92) and Murray (since '93), both of whom precede Schumer in seniority by several years. A benefit of being there longer is learning the obscure rules and maneuvers and how to work the Parliamentarian on what is possible. It also involves being somewhat of a (slimey) politician or you get run all over.
Patty was the "Assistant Minority Leader" so wonder if the next go-around, she may make a move...
