Graham set to take over Judiciary

Source: The Hill

BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 11/16/18 11:38 AM EST

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is poised to become the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced Friday that he would step down to take over the chairmanship of the Finance Committee.

The shuffle would put Graham, a close ally of President Trump who made headlines this fall with a forceful denunciation of Democrats during Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation hearings, in charge of the panel handling judicial nominations.

Graham is up for reelection in 2020.

The South Carolina Republican will also have jurisdiction over the Department of Justice and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump administration.

He may not be making any progress on the border wall, but he's doing a great job of protecting himself from the legal system.

Not too early for SC to create a groundswell to ditch him.

A natural reaction would be to burst into laughter after examining it closely.

Whatever was he thinking?

I think he looked so funny because he knew he was defending the indefensible, and he couldn't look sincere.

A Republican tea-party Senator announced that she was forming the "Permanent Sub-committee on Benghazi". The republican investigations of the Hillary Clinton email server are well beyond that farcical and absurd comedy.

God, I wish that show had survived into the trump years!

What happened, Lindsey? Did your last shred of integrity die with Senator McCain?

I hope that someone has so much dirt on Graham's that it cascades out in a torrent of paralyzing embarrassment if he even hints at shutting Mueller down or inhibiting his work.
