Washington (CNN)Special counsel Robert Mueller's team has made clear to Paul Manafort's attorneys that they believe the former Trump campaign chair is lying to them about President Donald Trump, according to the President's attorney Rudy Giuliani.
"In the questioning of Manafort, they did tell them at the time that they believed he was lying about certain things related to us that he's not lying about," Giuliani told CNN.
Mueller's team will describe to a federal court on Friday the alleged lies told by Manafort that led to the disruption of the cooperation agreement. The filing will be closely read for any indications of what Mueller has learned in the investigation of Russian interactions with Trump associates.
Giuliani said he is not sure this information will show up in the special counsel's Friday filing.

(70,504 posts)So is Rudy saying that Manafort was lying about other things?
And as noted by bearsfootball516 "they" are trying to get out in front of the coming
shit storm by admitting to some lying now. That coming information must be brutal.
Mueller gave Trump a take home test to see if some of the information on that test
was passed onto Manafort's lawyers and or did Manafort's lawyers pass stuff onto
team Trump in order to get their stories straight?

(37,648 posts)the documents we have indicate that Manafort is lying (or not being candid or truthful).
Unless it's a ploy, an investigative team deals in evidence and facts, not mere accusations.

(8,200 posts)Trump and his cabal of inane syncopates' utterances only further solidify any sane person's reaction to simply disregard them as unworthy of any consideration. They only serve as a nuisance as we have to patiently await Mueller's conclusions. At the present any attempt to decipher what will be the conclusion is only exercise in speculation.
Personally, I am confident that Mueller's conclusions will be accurate and fair. His life has demonstrated that he is a man of honor and integrity. It stands in mark contrast to shallow being he has been charge to investigate. Whatever he concludes, I will accept. It won't alter my estimation of Trump regardless of his conclusions. Trump has demonstrated that his dysfunctional administration and his ability to lead the nation have been total failure. Just another bankruptcy to be logged in with his other numerous debacles. His moral depravity and the evil that have dominated his entire life is a legacy that will live long past his interment. He will take his place among a cohort of the most abject failures that have plagued mankind.
