Trump blasts Blumenthal after senator calls him an 'unindicted co-conspirator'

President Trump took aim at Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Saturday after the Intelligence Committee member told MSNBC that a sentencing memo filed by federal prosecutors on Friday implicated the president in directing illegal payments to women who claimed they had affairs with him.
In a pair of tweets, Trump mocked Blumenthal for past statements the senator has made referring to his military service, which the president has frequently accused the senator of inflating.

There's no evidence that the Connecticut senator has ever claimed to have served in combat in Vietnam, though the senator has been criticized for comments he made describing his service in the Marine Corps Reserves, which occurred during the Vietnam war era but was based in the U.S.
The president's attacks came hours after Blumenthal spoke to MSNBC's Chris Matthews, telling the host that [Michael] Cohen's payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal during the campaign at the direction of Trump amounted to illegal campaign contributions.

(15,144 posts)You should just shut up "The Donald". Hope you're getting nervous now. Why don't you eat some more of that fatty food you like so much. Another Diet Coke? Or two?
You should wish to be half the man Richard Blumenthal is.

(59,504 posts)the Fox News memes in less partisan places. Here, we have the absurdity of a President of the United States speaking in the trope of the RW sewer.
Their main attack whenever Blumenthal's name is mentioned is to make up fictions that he had spoken of serving in Vietnam - which he didn't - and beyond that speaking of him claiming heroic actions. In fact, he simply got in trouble for always speaking of being a "Vietnam ERA veteran" and in one place slipping and leaving out "era". However what he REALLY had as his resume was being an outstanding Attourney General -- someone expert on the current Trump problems.

(7,542 posts)Further information in Muellers sentencing memo shows facts & evidence that indicate Russian involvement with the Trump campaign potentially lead to obstruction of justice. Political synergy sounds quite a lot like collusion.
After not 1, not 2, but 3 court filings tonight, we have more evidence that Trump is implicated in criminal wrongdoing. It is a basic, fundamental tenant of the American justice system: no one is above the law.
