Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott McCallum (R) is calling for Gov. Scott Walker (R) to reject some of the measures the state legislature passed to limit incoming Democratic officials' authority.
It appears completely political, (like) a power grab, McCallum told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Saturday, before adding that Walker has the chance to avoid the appearance of sour grapes."
McCallum, who served as governor from 2001-2003, noted that Walker should be "open and transparent and reach out in a very public fashion to discuss the lame-duck legislation with incoming Gov. Tony Evers (D).
Evers defeated Walker in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race in November.

(9,426 posts)thing in Michigan. So unchecked, they will continue nationwide. Once every state is securely under their control, next step is to hamstring the next Democratic President. THIS is the end game for them. People are finally seeing tRump for the failure that he is. The democrats will likely nominate the next president. After the blue wave of the mid terms, the handwriting is on the wall. Therefore, a new plan is going into effect. Limit the next president.

(4,036 posts)We can dream that ex-Gov.Walker would for once in his dimming career do the right thing, but hes a Republican. Doing so now would castigate him from the party, and rest assured, this guy wants to be back in the game. Good puppet that he was, he faithfully ( I dont like that term) did what ALEC to him to do with a smile on his face. He will not fall from their grace.
Walker will sign the legislation while hoisting a glass of champagne with his gerrymandering, low life cronies. You can count on it.

(18,637 posts)As soon as they can seat a republican, the Wisconsin Senate will grant dictatorial powers right back to the Governor's Mansion.
The Wisconsin GOP has gone from dirty politics to filthy rotten politics, and they full well know it. Only gerrymander reform can fix this problem.
