Police, FBI probe suspected white supremacist attack on DJ

Source: Associated Press

Updated 2:52 pm CST, Monday, December 10, 2018

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say the FBI is helping investigate an attack by several suspected white supremacists on a black disc jockey at a tavern in Washington state over the weekend.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's office said Monday that seven men and one woman were arrested for investigation of assault, hate crimes and other charges early Saturday in Lynnwood. Investigators said the group tried to take over the DJ's equipment, then beat him and stomped him while shouting racial slurs.

Sheriff Ty Trenary called the attack "disgusting." Court papers identified the suspects as being affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood.

Authorities say they believe the group, which included people from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Illinois and Oregon, was in Washington state to mark the anniversary of the death of a white supremacist leader in 1984.

Wiki. Robert Jay Mathews (January 16, 1953 – December 8, 1984) was an American neo-Nazi terrorist and the leader of The Order, an American white supremacist militant group. He was killed during a shootout with approximately seventy-five federal law enforcement agents who surrounded his house on Whidbey Island, near Freeland, Washington.

Mathews' life inspired the production of the 1988 theatrical film Betrayed and the 1999 television film Brotherhood of Murder.
The Order. Mathews read about history and politics, including William Gayley Simpson's book Which Way Western Man?, which profoundly affected him. Mathews believed that the white race was in danger, and in 1982 he made an effort to attract white families to the Pacific Northwest, or the "White American Bastion." He visited the Aryan Nations compound many times and began to have friends and followers.
In 1983, Mathews made a speech at a National Alliance convention, which was a report on his efforts to recruit on behalf of the organization, especially among "the yeoman farmers and independent truckers," around his "White American Bastion" group, and a call to action to the convention's only standing ovation. Mathews took to heart the 1978 novel The Turner Diaries written by National Alliance founder William Luther Pierce.

In late September 1983, at a barracks he constructed on his property in Metaline, Mathews and eight other men founded the group that would become known as "The Order", which he thought of as the "Silent Brotherhood." They included his friend and neighbor, Ken Loff, and others from the Aryan Nations: Dan Bauer, Randy Duey, Denver Parmenter, and Bruce Pierce. David Lane, and the National Alliance: Richie Kemp and Bill Soderquist. Recent recruits rounded out the group. None had ever committed a violent crime, or served prison time. The group's first task, according to Mathews' plan, was to obtain money to support white separatism. Their activities began to parallel events in the novel The Turner Diaries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Jay_Mathews

LYNNWOOD — Early Saturday morning, eight people were arrested on suspicion of using racial slurs following a fight at the Rec Room Bar and Grill near Lynnwood, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office.

The eight suspects were booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of malicious harassment — also known as a hate crime. Some of the suspects were also were booked for investigation of assault. Another person was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Deputies were called to the scene around 12:40 a.m. Saturday, after witnesses reported 15-20 people causing a disturbance which included fighting with the disc jockey, according to sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Brand. Witnesses also said shots were fired inside the bar. The reports of gunfire have not been confirmed by the sheriff’s office, said Brand.

The suspects allegedly used derogatory terms including the n-word toward the disc jockey, who is black, he said.

Deputies say barroom beating involved white supremacists

...One man began using the DJ’s gear without permission around 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rec Room Bar & Grill, between Everett and Lynnwood on Highway 99, the court papers say.

The DJ, an African-American man from Everett, tried to stop the man but was overwhelmed by a large group of white men. He turned off the music and told the men to leave the bar.

...The men called the 37-year-old DJ the N-word, beat him to the ground and stomped him, police reports say. The attackers allegedly said, “We will see you, (N-word),” and “It’s over for you.”

The DJ “was in complete fear for his life,” wrote a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy in a police report. Another Everett man, 35, who is Asian American, also was assaulted, deputies said.

...Actually calling them “wild animals” is incorrect because wild animals don’t act that insane!

Prisons were built for these types of violent terrorists yet we pack them with non-violent drug offenders!

A day after a neo-Nazi is convicted of murder, associates of the country's oldest, most violent skinhead groups charged with hate crimes

December 08, 2018
Brett Barrouquere

Individuals associated with some of the country’s oldest and most violent racist skinhead groups have been charged with hate crimes in Washington state, just hours after a jury convicted a neo-Nazi of murder for his actions at the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Travis David Condor, a member of the band Birthrite and head of hate music record label American Defense Records, was among nine people arrested at a bar in Lynnwood, Washington, early Saturday morning.

. . .

Condor was photographed rallying alongside members of the Hammerskin Nation and other white supremacists at the Charlottesville rally, which turned violent before being dispersed by police.

Hammerskin Nation’s western region members have been involved in violence at political rallies across 2017. “Western Hammers” were also involved with the Rise Above Movement (RAM), which participated in violence during rallies in Huntington Beach and San Bernardino, California. Members were photographed during the April 2017 Berkeley riot.

Perhaps the Hammerskins’ most infamous member is Wade Michael Page, who gunned down six worshippers in a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, in 2012. Page turned his pistol on himself after engaging first responders, including Lt. Brian Murphy, who Page shot 15 times during a shootout in the temple’s parking lot.

For years, the Hammerskins and other racist skinheads have gathered outside Seattle, Washington, to celebrate Mathews and The Order’s legacy of terrorism. Groups usually travel by ferry to Whidbey Island and take photographs near the plot of land where Mathews died during a firefight with federal law enforcement officers.
