Wells Griffith, President Donald Trumps adviser on energy and climate, made quite an impression at this years largest climate change conference held in Poland when he used his speaking time to bolster the necessity of coal.
According to a Washington Post report, Griffith took the podium Monday and said, We strongly believe that no country should have to sacrifice economic prosperity or energy security in pursuit of environmental sustainability.
The room erupted into laughter, punctuated with shouts of protest.

(8,200 posts)When our representatives continue to compromise our values then you can't expect good results. When the people fail to become informed on the issues, people don't even show up to vote and propagandists can spread their out right lies unopposed over the airwave 24/7 the situation is not serious, it is dire.

(7,142 posts)use the Google machine and look at pictures of Pittsburgh in 1940 compared with the same location today.
People are nutz. Even bringing in a discussion of money, there are more jobs to be had in renewable energy than in coal. The use of mountaintop mining drastically cut the need for miners.
There is no good argument for coal.
