McCarthy calls on incoming Democrats to embrace bipartisanship, not 'food fight' or investigations
Source: The Hill
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is encouraging incoming Democratic lawmakers to embrace bipartisanship, arguing such an approach benefits constituents more than a "partisan food fight" and investigations.
In a letter written to the soon-to-be freshman Thursday, the California Republican expressed his willingness to work with them and offered to meet with them during the 116th Congress.
Democrats are set to take over the House majority on Jan. 3.
As you acknowledged in your letter to Democratic leadership, legislating is the number one priority of the legislative branch. I agree, he wrote.

Or something like that..... and then you.......cut off his head and sh*t down his neck, to coin a phrase.
But never, never make aggressive, hostile comments to the traitorous opposition. The media boys and girls love reporting on comments that sound conciliatory and will not forget it if you blast the opposition.
Don't talk.......shoot.

For Republicans to even suggest Democrats toe the line is complicity is Trukp's mounting crimes.

(2,895 posts)to procure millions of dollars from federal contracts in Kevin's district!
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/mccarthys-in-laws-made-millions-off-dubious-native-american-heritage-claim
A construction company owned by the in-laws of House Republican second-in-command Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was awarded more than $7 million in federal contracts since 2000 based on a dubious claim of Native American heritage, the Los Angeles Times reported in a lengthy investigation Sunday.
William Wages, whose sister Judy is married to McCarthy, the House Majority Leader, claims he is one-eighth Cherokee. He is a member of the Northern Cherokee Nation, which is not a federally-recognized tribe and which the Times reported is considered a fraud by tribes that are federally recognized.
The company, Vortex, also employs McCarthys father-in-law and sister-in-law, and his mother-in-law is a co-owner. McCarthys wife stepped down as a partner in 1995, which William Wages said was to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest with McCarthy.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) accepted Wages claim of Native American heritage in 1998, making his company eligible for federal contracts designated for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.
Contracts for projects at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, which sits at the edge of McCarthys district, made up the majority of the $7 million in no-bid and other federal contracts, the Times found....
Cherokee genealogist David Cornsilk called Northern Cherokee Nation very much a con.
Wages and McCarthy both denied McCarthy having any involvement in the construction business, though McCarthy has supported millions in funding for programs at China Lake....
Wages, the Times said, acknowledged not participating in Cherokee culture growing up. But he has claimed in state filings, under penalty of perjury, that he had been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias, or have suffered the effects of discrimination, because of my identity.

(4,608 posts)Democrats should show McCarthy and Republicans the same sort of bipartisanship and collegial cooperation that Republicans dished out for the last 2 years. No offense to Michelle Obama but NO high road. Congressional Democrats should uphold their Constitutional duties and a good swift kick in Republican balls wouldn't be out of place or unmerited.

(23,099 posts)Repugs are dictators when they are in charge and run roughshod over the minority, spending $40 million on Benghazi which they caused in their first place by reducing embassy security funds. They are such liars and hypocrites, they just revel in it. They wouldn't let bills that had bipartisan support come to the floor because Dems were in favor of it - the heinous 1% fluffers. Bet he went back to his cadre of traitors and they had a huge laugh about this. Any Dems who go along with this pretense really don't care about Democratic ideals in the first place (No Labels etc.). They are traitors and try every trick in the book to steal power and when even their best efforts fail, they still want a place at the policy table to continue their destruction.
Fuck them all, I am beyond sick of their criminality and traitorousness against the USA and in favor of dictatorships.
