Trump Already Souring on Next Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney Over 'Terrible Human Being' Jibe, Says Re

Source: daily beast

1. THAT WAS FAST 2 hours ago

Donald Trump is reportedly already turning on Mick Mulvaney—who hasn’t even started his new job as acting White House chief of staff yet—due to a two-year-old video uncovered by The Daily Beast, which shows Mulvaney calling the president “a terrible human being.” Mulvaney is due to start his new job at the end of the year. Trump’s announcement of Mulvaney’s appointment followed a troubled hiring process that saw several of his preferred picks refuse the role. Trump reportedly started regretting his appointment after seeing the video of Mulvaney from a week before the 2016 election saying: “Yes, I am supporting Donald Trump, but I’m doing so despite the fact that I think he’s a terrible human being.” Axios reports Trump was “furious” when he heard about the footage—he reportedly asked one adviser: “Did you know [Mulvaney] called me ‘a terrible human being’ back during the campaign?” A spokeswoman for Mulvaney dismissed the remarks as “old news” and said he changed his mind about Trump after they met.

Pence, however, will not attend the rescheduled campaign rally, according to the Associated Press. He broke his silence on the controversy Saturday morning, saying he cannot "condone" or "defend" Trump's comments.

"As a husband and a father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the 11-year-old video released yesterday," he said in a released statement. "I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people."

Incoming Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney was involved in political activity in advance of the midterms. We’d like to know how OMB and CFPB made sure it complied with the Hatch Act:

mulvaney will resign before he even starts.

His tenure will probably be measured in Scaramuccis. Yep, holding a grudge is one of donnie's actual talents.

May be something to this??? I really do not know.

Re Trump's decision on troops in Syria, where @RandPaul is one of the few Rs who supports him, a smart person notes to me: Mick Mulvaney was Rand’s national co-chair in 2016 race. Trading Kelly for Mick is good for POTUS instincts on things like this.

Mattis understands, as should we all, when we go back on our word as a country, we will never be trusted.

Trump made a deal with Erdogan and said nothing to Mattis, took none of his advice. Maybe Erdogan will publicize Trump's tower in Turkey, it will only cost the lives of the Kurds, no biggie.
