Lindsey Graham on Shutdown: If Trump Doesn't 'Break' Dems Now, 'It's Going to Be a Terrible 2019'

Lindsey Graham on Shutdown: If Trump Doesn’t ‘Break’ Democrats Now, ‘It’s Going to Be a Terrible 2019’

by Josh Feldman | Dec 22nd, 2018, 10:47 am

-snip-

Last night, in the hour before the shutdown deadline passed, Graham spoke with Fox News’ Shannon Bream and said, “After the caravan, if you don’t see the need for more border security, you’re blind.”

“I think Democrats hate Trump so much they want him to lose, even though it would be good for the country to work with him on border security,” he continued. “And if he doesn’t break ’em now, it’s going to be a terrible 2019. So Mr. President, dig in.”

Graham praised Trump for being a dealmaker and said Democrats should be working with Trump. If they don’t, he added, they’ll “hear it from the American people in 2020.” He also told Bream they shouldn’t “act like children.”

Graham went on to reiterate his problems with Trump’s decision to withdraw from Syria, directly appealing to him at one point to reconsider. Bream asked Graham if he would be the next Defense Secretary. Graham immediately said no.

Does Lindsay Graham always like to be so pushy on military matters, he calls himself a Gulf War veteran, when in fact he was in the National Guard for a short time and never got anywhere other than South Carolina?
He is a fake, pure and simple.

Upon graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Graham was commissioned as an officer and judge advocate in the United States Air Force in 1982. He was placed on active duty and in 1984, he was sent to Europe as a military prosecutor and defense attorney, serving at Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1984, as he was defending an Air Force pilot accused of using marijuana, he was featured in an episode of 60 Minutes that exposed the Air Force's defective drug-testing procedures. After four years in Europe, he returned to South Carolina, leaving active duty in 1989. He subsequently entered private practice as a lawyer.

During the 1990–91 Gulf War, Graham was recalled to active duty, serving as a judge advocate at McEntire Air National Guard Station in Eastover, South Carolina, where he helped brief departing pilots on the laws of war. In 1998, the Capitol Hill daily newspaper The Hill contended that Graham was describing himself on his website as an Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran. Graham responded: "I have not told anybody I'm a combatant. I'm not a war hero, and never said I was. ... If I have lied about my military record, I'm not fit to serve in Congress", further noting that he "never deployed."

In 1998, Graham was promoted to lieutenant colonel. In 2004, he received his promotion to colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve at a White House ceremony officiated by President George W. Bush. That year, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces held that it was improper for Graham to serve as a military judge while a sitting member of the Senate.

In 2007, Graham served in Iraq as a reservist on active duty for a short period in April and for two weeks in August, where he worked on detainee and rule-of-law issues. He also served in Afghanistan during the August 2009 Senate recess. He was then assigned as a senior instructor for the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps.

They made a pack with the devil and now the devil owns them lock stock and barrel. They have so empowered them that even the president of our nation must obey their irrational demands. It remains to be seen if the MSM will begin to challenge them and awaken the public to the what has been going on since Reagan created this debacle. They seem to be rather soft spoken as they are attacked as spreading False News, when in reality it is FOX and the hundreds of radio stations under the extremists that are actually misleading the citizens.

Typical republican accusing others of exactly that which they themselves are guilty of. What do I mean? two words: President Obama.

While I can't speak for anyone else I can say wholeheartedly I hate trump with everything that I am. I despise those who give him their support and I consider the same absolute enemies.

When trump loses America wins!

Finally, democrats BETTER NOT work with trump on any fucking thing! We don't yield to traitors! If they do they will definitely hear from the electorate in 2020.

used immigration to gin up fear in the Republican base. Basically, it is a molehill that has been made into an artificial mountain.

But wait - that's not the best of it. The reason they are such well-funded raving lunatics is because they provide a convenient distraction to the greatest heist in history - the giant tax cut for billionaires and corporations last year which transferred yet more trillions of dollars to the parasitic billionaire and CEO class.

Bankers have created a system of artificial scarcity through the Fed, which is primarily owned by JP Morgan Chase and Citi. It is NOT quasi-governmental - that is a sick joke. If the national debt is money we owe ourselves, then why are we paying it back to bankers with interest?

Wall Street MBA lizards have elevated the concept of shareholder primacy to an exact science that manifests in:
- for workers: unsafe working conditions, union busting, end-of-quarter and end-of-year layoffs just to raise share prices, crappy benefits and stagnant wages.

- for consumers: smaller packages at the same or higher prices, unsafe products, increased recalls, failure to honor warranties and products that are diluted or made poorer quality to increase profits.

- for the environment: the concept of 'externality' allows businesses to foul the environment and, as long as they aren't forced to pay, it is considered an 'externality.' So the earth is raped by capitalism and our entire species, as well as other living creatures, now face an existential crisis.

Billionaire parasites have bought our politicians, primarily the Republicans, have propagandized us to believe in a zero sum game - that if someone wins, then someone else must lose; we must all pull ourselves up by the bootstraps because we're rugged individualists, and only the strongest survive. In short, an Ayn Randian hell. This manifests itself in:
- irresponsible deregulation, which erodes our safety as consumers, our financial security (what little we all have left), and the quality of the environment.

- rampant privatization of things that should be part of the public domain, such as prisons, schools and non-military discretionary programs. And, make no mistake - the Wall Street greed heads have had their eye on the Social Security Trust Fund for decades.

- and gutting social programs through irresponsible tax cuts, coupled with more and more government contracts, primarily for 'defense.'

All these things, including the propaganda that drowns us, serves the sole purpose of transferring more and more of the world's wealth to the few at the expense of the many. Everything - the primacy of the shareholders, Citizens United, lack of a Fairness Doctrine allows this giant greed machine to grind us up a little more each day.

Tired of it yet?
