US says 8-year-old Guatemalan boy has died in custody

Source: Miami Herald

EL PASO, TEXAS -U.S. immigration authorities say an 8-year-old boy from Guatemala has died in government custody, the second immigrant child to die in detention this month.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection say the boy died shortly after midnight Tuesday.

CBP says the boy showed "signs of potential illness" Monday and was taken with his father to a hospital in Alamogordo, New Mexico. There, CBP says, he was diagnosed with a cold and a fever. He was given medications and released Monday afternoon.

The agency says the boy was returned to the hospital Monday evening with nausea and vomiting. He died just hours later.

His policy is killing children.
He has admitted that he wants to teach parents a lesson. The lack of medical preparedness is no coincidence.

There was no room at the inn?

And the child, and his parents, had to sleep in a manger?

No- wait! He was thrown into a cage!

They should be exposed as Child Killers! This is sickening that OUR OWN country is being labeled as child killers. Yet this administration is PROUD of it. They all should be removed!

Why couldn't the hospital keep the child a day longer, to make sure he was improving on his medicine and getting it according to regimen? The family is basically homeless, but they are expected to buy the drugs and administer them on time. No sweat, right?

Maybe some GOP pro life $$$ prosperity preacher can explain to us why it’s good to cage innocent children and allow them to die in custody.

Trump’s gestapo is doing the job he sent them to do in his gulag all to well lately.

( bothers me that Kristol is right, but it is so)

Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) Tweeted:
“Let the children have their night of fun and laughter....Let us grown-ups [be] resolved that, by our sacrifice and daring, these same children shall not be robbed of their inheritance or denied their right to live in a free and decent world.”

He called immigrants animals more than once. Ans more than just in reference to gang members. Said we have to get really tough.

These deaths are the result of Trump's policies and rhetoric. He wants stuff like this to happen, and so do his supporters.

Mistreatment of immigrants also happened under Obama, but the difference is the leader of the country wasn't using rhetoric that encourages mistreatment.

Felipe Gonzalez, the United Nations special rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, said Monday that the U.S. government’s detention of children due to their immigration status violated international law.

Overcrowded facilities for children are primed for disease spreading and dehydration.
Authorities would probably rather call it a "cold".
I would demand an autopsy.

The boy was diagnosed with a common cold and had a fever of 103 degrees at 1:20 p.m. on Christmas Eve, the release states. He was observed for 90 minutes before being released from the emergency room in the afternoon of Dec. 24 with amoxicillin and ibuprofen prescriptions.

And despite that high temperature, they released him from the ER and put him back into the "Ice Box" freezing torture chamber of a detention room.

Like the 7 year old girl that died, he started vomiting shortly thereafter and lost consciousness...and never regained it.
