Giuliani rips Mueller: 'It's time to put up or shut up'
Source: The Hill

President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani is seeking to put pressure on special counsel Robert Mueller to submit his report on whether the investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia has found collusion, saying Mueller should "put up or shut up."
In an interview with New York radio host John Catsimatidis airing Sunday, Giuliani claimed that Mueller's team has known since "May or June" that there is no evidence to support the allegation that members of Trump's campaign knowingly worked with Russians during the 2016 election.
It should have been wrapped up probably in May or June. Thats when they figured out they had no evidence of collusion," Giuliani asserted, adding, "Collusion is not a crime, by the way."
"You have to show a conspiracy to hack [the Democratic National Committee]," he added. "They dont have any evidence of that - which is the reason they dont submit a report, because they are embarrassed."

As for telling Mueller to "shut up", it's been pointed out a few times in the last week that Mueller is the "stealth" prosecutor that no one really knows because he's so quiet.

(3,434 posts)A great majority want Mueller to Finnish on his terms and see what evidence he has. According to reports, that won't be much longer. Giuliani is mixed up in this somehow, which explains his behavior.

(22,048 posts)Giuliani knew in advance that Anthony Weiner's laptop, (actually it belonged to his wife, Huma Abedin, an advisor to Hillary Clinton), was being investigated because it had copies of emails from Ms. Clinton.
Of course, it turned out that the emails were simply copies of emails the FBI had already reviewed. In fact, it could be argued that James Comey was stuck between the anti-Clinton forces in the FBI and the proper agency procedures. If he hadn't re-opened the investigation, the leakers in the FBI would have released information which would have muddied the waters even more.
Giuliani probably has some culpability in one of these cases.

(7,403 posts)Trump announces "Russia, if you are listening" and the next day Russia makes a major release of email.
Roger Stone boasts "John Podesta, you're next" and the next day Russia releases Podesta email.
All just educated guesses they claim.
All very damaging, to say the least. But you can be sure Mueller has other supporting evidence debunking the "educated guess" defense.
I would not want to be in the shoes of Stone or Trump.

conspiracy
n. when people work together by agreement to commit an illegal act. A conspiracy may exist when the parties use legal means to accomplish an illegal result, or to use illegal means to achieve something that in itself is lawful. To prove a conspiracy those involved must have agreed to the plan before all the actions have been taken, or it is just a series of independent illegal acts. A conspiracy can be criminal for planning and carrying out illegal activities, or give rise to a civil lawsuit for damages by someone injured by the conspiracy. Thus, a scheme by a group of salesmen to sell used automobiles as new, could be prosecuted as a crime of fraud and conspiracy, and also allow a purchaser of an auto to sue for damages for the fraud and conspiracy.

(5,969 posts)His repeat routine of trying to press Mueller into ending the investigation has always failed and will fail again. Calling that ripping Mueller is like calling the actions of a fly ripping someone to distract him from his work. The fly isn't ripping anyone either.

(3,256 posts)He acts like he has some skin in the game. I'm suspecting the investigation may lead to corruption when he was mayor that involved Trump. If he was actually just a lawyer he wouldn't be trying his case in the press but working on the defense. If you know your client is guilty then you try to discredit the evidence. It worked for Johnie Cochran, but then he was a much better lawyer (and a better man).

(3,426 posts)Because he is in too deep. Giuliani isn't ripping into Mueller's case , what he doing is blowing smoke out of what amounts to nothing more than a cheap cigar. My guess is there is no bottom where it comes down to how low can Rudy go.
