Farmers are losing payments from the government meant to help them during the trade fight with China because of the government shutdown, a top official with the American Farm Bureau Federation said Monday.

(3,696 posts)Do the posters at the AG sites you visit understand that the bailout payments are temporary and this will be the last payment when it's eventually released? What's will happen to farmers in the future w/o the bailout money? I expected more noise around this from red farming states but it's been fairly muted, probably because of the temporary bailout money.
