Republicans slam colleague for what they call racist remarks

Source: abc

WASHINGTON — Jan 10, 2019, 2:48 PM ET

VIDEO: Authorities call to have Iowa Congressman Steve King removed from his post

....................................

Rep. Steve King of Iowa was quoted in The New York Times as saying: "White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?"

Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, the third-ranking House Republican, tweets that King's remarks are "abhorrent and racist and should have no place in our national discourse."

And Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan says: "This is an embrace of racism, and it has no place in Congress or anywhere."

King later tweeted that he regards white nationalism and white supremacy as "evil."......................................

They flinch at the language he used in public but not the perspective he illuminates. Why else would they cling to and defend the border wall, child separation, mass invasion hysteria and other insidious policies and actions if they were so incensed by his beliefs.
It is only when one of them gets caught saying these things in public plain language rather than the racist code they normally purvey that they object.

A patriot just loves his/her country. A nationalist sees his/her country as superior, much as certain whites view themselves as superior, so there is implied disdain for other countries and nationalities.

Ever notice how white supremacists don’t seem all that supreme?

This big dude, a guest on Chuck Toad, just said that Repugs are getting rid of King because they don’t want him to be an Ocasio-Cortez.
I don’t know his name, he’s been on quite a bit. He’s a big black dude, is usually pretty fair.

"White supremacist"? His words. "Nationalist"? He knows, like we all do, what that ideology is.

Unbelievable. That is who the alt-right is. That is who Trumpers are.
