Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested Friday that the House will take some punitive action against Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), whos under fire from both parties for recent comments defending the white supremacist label.
Well see what we do about Steve King, but nonetheless, nothing is shocking anymore, right? The new normal around here is to praise white supremacists and nationalism as something that shouldnt be shunned, Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol.
Pressed about what specific action the House might take, Pelosi declined to get into details.
Im not prepared to make any announcement about that right now, she said. But needless to say, theres interest in doing something.

(6,254 posts)couldnt snurvuve without undocumented immigrant labor. The immigrants become like family members to the farmers yet they vote repeatedly for anti immigrant politicians like Steve King. Its the damnest thing I have ever read. Republicans cultist.

(11,949 posts)But I know these guys who use migrants and they become just like family while paying them shit wages and such. Not the dairy industry but veggies and citrus in Florida.
Many of them would be very happy if they could make them slaves. Hell, on many aspects they already are. Dont make the Boss man happy and there is the risk of them having you deported. They have one legal guy paid to harvest their crops and when whole familys show up to do the work they ignore it.
I run in the Agriculture circles. Not all by any means are like this. But a shit ton are.
On several occasions I have seen owner demeaning/threatening men who were holding shovels. They would never talk that way to a man with rights. After one episode I finally snapped and told the guy if he talked to me that way I would go across his head with a shovel. His response?
Of course you would. Youre an American .
I was 28 at the time. Im 53 now. It taught me a lot about how power dynamics.

to this day. It goes like " well, we cared for them, they were just like family, etc...".
