Romney’s campaign announces $111.6M August fundraising haul

Mitt Romney raised $111.6 million for his presidential campaign in August, the third consecutive month the Republican candidate has posted a nine-figure haul.

As I posted in another topic here, an unnamed Obama campaign official told the AP that the Obama campaign raised $114 million last month -- though that hasn't been announced officially.

Then some little known IRS rule will enable a tax accountant to also apply the losing funds as a tax credit for Romney's next return that will net him a refund of 40+ million dollars.

But the tweets from the campaign have more information.

1.17 million donors.

97.7% of donations in August were $250 or less.
