Man who killed officer said he was hit by ultrasonic waves

Source: Associated Press

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — The man who shot and killed a rookie California police officer left a letter on the bed in the home where he lived claiming police bombarded him with ultrasonic waves, officials said.

Police in the college town of Davis near Sacramento on Saturday made public the one-paragraph letter they said was written by Kevin Douglas Limbaugh, 48. He killed himself Thursday after fatally shooting Officer Natalie Corona.

. . .

"The Davis Police department has been hitting me with ultra sonic (sic) waves meant to keep dogs from barking," the letter said. "I notified the press, internal affairs, and even the FBI about it. I am highly sensitive to its affect (sic) on my inner ear. I did my best to appease them, but they have continued for years and I can't live this way anymore."

The handwritten note was signed "Citizen Kevin Limbaugh." Also recovered as evidence from the man's home were two unregistered guns.

1. While there are people who suffer from this unexplained phenomenon, no, this guy was mentally ill.

The tiny segment of the population who have these auditory/inner ear disturbances do NOT go around blaming cops and shooting them. It's suspected it has to do with super-sensitivity to EM radiation, perhaps tied to a vestigial extra sense from an earlier Human ancestor. Some modern animals have it which aids in navigation.

This guy, however, was possibly schizophrenic and not being treated. But sure, yeah, give him guns. I'm sure it will be fin... oh.

3. Couldn't this have been something more common such as tinnitus?

... which is somewhat common. Apparently tinnitus can manifest itself in different ways aside from "ringing in the ears".

Shocker. First fatal officer shooting in Davis history, except for a guy in the fifties who killed himself.

Limbaugh was a registered Republican in Florida.

4. In this case, I doubt party affiliation was a factor.

R's are usually excessively pro law'n order.

7. Show me the registered Dem who shoots up the town and I'll concede your point.

Republicans are pro law and order except for when they're feeling the Libertarian freak streak.

Like this gentleman. Who loved his guns so much he was willing to kill for them.

I'm just angry.

Sovereign Citizens being an accurate example of the salad-bar style of law and justice the Republic party likes.

I wonder if he obtained his guns illegally or if he somehow got them legally because of an error or delay in the background check system.
