Trump points to falling gas prices in pushback against Russia claims

Source: The Hill

BY MICHAEL BURKE - 01/14/19 07:35 AM EST

President Trump on Monday pushed back against the possibility that he is working on behalf of Russia, pointing to falling gas prices.

Trump wrote in a tweet that falling gas prices across the U.S. are "bad news for Russia" and questioned why he would "do such a thing" if he "worked for the Kremlin."

Trump's comments come after The New York Times reported Friday that the FBI in 2017 opened an investigation into whether Trump was working on behalf of Russia. The probe was prompted following Trump's dismissal of former FBI Director James Comey, according to the Times.

Trump, in an interview with Fox News on Saturday, called the report "insulting."

2. I nearly had a panic attack at the filling station.

I work at home, so don't fill my gas tank very often. Last week I pulled up, inserted the card, and started the gas pump.

Then I looked at the price. $1.88/gallon.

I thought I had accidentally pulled up to the wrong pump - is diesel cheaper? - and had started pumping the wrong gas.

While I appreciate the low gas prices, I am uneasy about why they are this low so suddenly.

From what I've read. The normal "summer blend" BS from the oil companies.

When gas is down, so is the stock market. Don't know what the correlation is. Just seems to be that way.

Did they actually mention Trump and Russia in the same half hour span? Is that why he is so panicked?

As someone noted about his "I've never been so insulted" response to Piro asking him has he, now or ever, worked for the Russians, he really needs to get out more. I consider that proof that he never reads anything.
