(CNN)The House Judiciary Committee chairman said Wednesday that his panel would subpoena special counsel Robert Mueller's final report if William Barr, President Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general, does not release it to the public.
"If necessary, our committee will subpoena the report. If necessary, we'll get Mueller to testify," Rep. Jerry Nadler, a New York Democrat, told CNN's Anderson Cooper on "Anderson Cooper 360." "The American people need the information here."
Mueller is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 campaign and possible collusion between Trump associates and Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign.

(3,257 posts)I don't think even a slimy old hack like Barr wants to go to prison. Same reason Sessions was gone. He didn't want to do prison time for Trump. With all the people involved in this prosecution it would be impossible to bury it. Not to mention State of New York might eventually get off its ass and drop some bombs.

(36 posts)has a fail-safe fourth estate "insurance" plan for that report that ultimately doesn't depend on a Legislative/Judicial/Executive balancing act. The People deserve whatever answers that report contains. What justice is served by plea deals that held blameless the highly suspect of criminal actions of many on condition of cooperation, and therefore pardonable, serving the one under some weird code of Executive "plausible deniability" that preserves and protects a Don committing high crimes and misdemeanors assisted by a cabal of dirty players???
