1. Building his wall will have no effect upon crime rates. Almost all drugs come through ports. Crime rates for undocumented people are lower than for U.S. citizens. The vast majority of undocumented people are here because they overstayed their visa.

2. Donnie states his wall is under construction. It's not. Sections of an existing barrier are being repaired.

3. Donnie states if he gets his money, construction on the wall will start tomorrow. It won't. Environmental impact statements must be done, private property has to be snatched via eminent domain, court battles must be fought over whether the government can seize church land because of the First Amendment, and Trump's wall still requires engineering tests, etc.

4. There is no way Donnie's wall will be finished in two years. The best estimate I've seen is five years.

5. The $5.7 billion is only a down payment for Donnie's wall. It will pay for about 700 miles, and that's without cost overruns.

6. Prayer is not going to stop the shellacking the Repugs are going to get in 2020.

I had considered surveying and research to be part of engineering, but you're right, they are additional costs to factor into the process, along with all the legal challenges and providing security while the project is in process. Since a lot of the steel will apparently come from a company owned by a Russian oligarch, I assume Donnie will get his kickback.
