My take on this, he is scared shitless. He is getting hammered by a lot of people. His favorability is down to 32%, with a good economy (stock market). If the shut down goes much farther his own economic advisor admits that the 1st quarter will have 0% growth, that will piss off even more of his cult because it will explode the deficit.

Not to mention his cult not getting their refunds on time and to add fuel to the fire, many aren't going to get the same return they got last year, pre Trump tax cuts for rich scam.

The State of the Union Address is usually a carefully worded and accurate description of a President's past successes and his hopes for the future.

With Trump, the address will be debased, and inaccurate, and hence totally worthless.

Someone convinced Mr. Trump to stop the fight over the State of the Union Speech..Fighting over this speech isn't worth it. The whole fight over the "wall" is not worth it. Here is why he did it in my opinion:

I don't think that Mr. Trump is "together" these last few weeks. He is hurting himself as well as our country. Perhaps someone convinced Mr. Trump to stop the fighting over the speech. Maybe someone said,

"You ain't well boss, just take it easy....relax, the speech can be given later, and the wall can be built latter too."......
