GOP senators read Pence riot act before shutdown votes

Source: theHill

By Alexander Bolton - 01/24/19 06:34 PM EST

.......................

Republican senators, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), warned the vice president that prolonging the shutdown is not a smart political strategy, in hopes of sending a clear message to President Trump that he needs to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

..................................

One GOP senator said lawmakers told Pence “the shutdown needs to come to an end, this is not a strategy that works [and] we never should have had a shutdown in the first place.”

Pence in turn told them that “the president is interested in striking a deal,” according to the source.
..................................
One of the most remarkable moments during the Senate luncheon came when McConnell told Pence that shuttering the government to try to secure funding for a border wall was not a smart approach.

“McConnell talked about how we need to bring this process to a close; we should never have had a shutdown; they don’t work; I’ve said this numerous times; I don’t know how many times I’ve told you there’s no education in the second kick of a mule,” said a GOP source familiar with the meeting.....................................

Mitch complained before the shutdown that it was a wrong move---then he remained steadfast to Trump and now he is complaining to trump.

The word for it is "slavery," and to Mitch, his boss, the Czar of modern Russia, Czar Putin, and his boss's lapdog, Puppy Trump, slavery/serfdom is a great way to be "great again."

It's slowly spreading. As well it should. Mitch lives in the back pocket of one of Oleg Deripaska's buddies. A wholly-owned subsidiary, bought and paid for. And he's hardly alone. Second paragraph nails several more.

If so I may have missed it.

It certainly deserves one.

It figures. The historic flag waving party of recent years proves to be filled with traitors beholden to a foreign power.

What happened, to use their locution, to their abhorrence of the so called "Evil Empire?"

I guess it was easily bought out.

No surprise. These are venal, cheap, empty men devoid of real principle. They will not live to see the contempt with which history will record them, but regrettably they lack even that shred of integrity to allow them even to care.

This shows how inept the Repblicans are. Tryong to get action by talking to a doorpost because none of them have the nerve to tell the Thief in Chief to his face. Maybe they've been living in their own echo chamber so long that they think this will make them look strong and forceful rather then what they are-gutless. So afraid of master. Reminds me of Clint Eastwoods lame chair routine.

The first is that he can ride out his time in office while avoiding any potential criminal charges for things like perjury.
The other is he is probably hoping that if the Repugnants do decide to impeach Trump or use the 25th amendment to remove him that its done this year so he can have time to build momentum for the election because he knows otherwise that he is toast.

For dang sure! Ya know - the sun rises in the east. Duh!

HOWEVER, rather than just telling Two-Pence, Moscow Mitch TOTALLY needed to look in the mirror and say to HIMSELF

there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule
there’s no education in the second kick of a mule

AND ACT ON IT LONG BEFORE THE LEGISLATIVE SH*TSHOW of today while hundreds of thousand of WORKING folks are forced to stand in food lines and even go to homeless shelters. THE DISGRACE.

BUT the repukes own it, from the top down.

Senate work is notoriously slow. It could be another couple of weeks for another vote and who knows what the orange sh!#-throwing gibbon will do. If this drags on much longer the wheels are really going to fall off.
