WASHINGTON – Roger Stone, a flamboyant political operative and longtime confidant of President Donald Trump, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to seven criminal counts, including witness tampering and obstruction in a case that brings special counsel Robert Mueller deeper into the president's inner circle.

The 66-year-old self-described "dirty-trickster" also is accused of lying to congressional investigators about his alleged work to inform the Trump campaign about the timing of document releases by the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks that would be damaging to Trump's then-Democrat opponent Hillary Clinton.

Stone's lawyers entered his not-guilty plea Tuesday morning.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson ordered Stone to return to court for another hearing on Friday afternoon. She ordered that Stone refrain from contact with witnesses in the case and check in with court authorities once each week.

There are "demonstrators" carrying signs saying: FREE ROGER STONE, FIRE MUELLER and FREE ROGER STONE ARREST HILLARY...

This is typical Roger Stone optics...he's planned for it and anticipated this day for months and he's not about to give up his dirty tricks, campaign kabuki dances, etc...

The sooner this guy is banned from our political discourse the better.

them / his so called supporters this coming Friday then. I can't be there, but I guarantee you that an awful lot of people are not fooled by repug tricks anymore. This is more than likely a bunch of thugs, simple as this, hired by Stone or who have worked w/ Stone. Has anyone provided any photos of these so called protesters? I bet you that a lot of them are repug operators who came out of state...

supports such thugs? Used to playing dirty tricks and such on the American voter? Stone is going to find out soon that such tricks don't work in the legal system (and it shouldn't).
