Roe v. Wade defines life beginning as when the fetus could live outside the body, and determined it (at that time) to be 6 months. So this MS law would define it as beginning when there is a heartbeat, even though it can't live outside the body.

If they pass this, it will go to the Supreme Court, where I expect it will be upheld, now that the anti-abortion justices are in place.

This would effectively outlaw abortion in MS, since by the time you'd discover you're pregnant, take some time to make a decision, and get an appt for an abortion, most would likely be past the 6 week time limit. (Esp since I'm guessing that MS doesn't have many, if any, abortion clinics.)

Let see how long the men talk about banning abortion if they had to actually pay something for all the government forced labor of producing a child creates.

I think it is time to turn the tables and be as aggressive as they are back. Talk about compensation, talk about how easy it is to get paternity tests. If the men disappear, then the government becomes liable for payment to this woman for pain suffering, risk of life. Time lost from work, on and on.

Any way, I’ve been ruminating about this idea for quite sometime.

Their great pretense of caring about the "unborn" is clearly a load of hooey when they hate the "born" so much, and think capital punishment is just fine for poor people who can't afford expensive lawyers after being charged with serious crimes, sometimes proven to be false charges, after all, years after being imprisoned.
