Trump Cheers on Covington Student's Lawsuit Against Washington Post: 'Go Get Them Nick!'

Source: Mediaite

by Aidan McLaughlin | Feb 20th, 2019, 8:03 am

President Donald Trump issued a tweet cheering on the defamation lawsuit a Kentucky high school student filed against The Washington Post for the paper’s coverage of his encounter with a Native American activist last month.

The lawsuit, according to the Post, claims the paper “targeted and bullied” 16-year-old Nicholas Sandmann “because it wanted to advance its well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump.”

“Go get them Nick,” Trump tweeted to the MAGA hat-wearing student. “Fake News!”

The suit was filed by Sandmann’s parents, according to the Post, who are seeking $250 million in damages — the sum Jeff Bezos paid for the paper when he bought it in 2013.

... an elderly Native American, be a part of a group of young men who chanted racist and anti Hispanic
phrases, and sexually harass young ladies as they were out on the National Mall “because it wanted
to advance its well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump.”

Good luck with that lawsuit son. No doubt many of the very best civil lawyers in the nation want
to take on that case.

No evidence was found that students performed a "Build the Wall" chant or made racist remarks to the Black Hebrew Israelites or Phillips.

In regards to the 7-second video of two students making comments to two women, investigators said they could not determine if the students were from Covington Catholic.

We can't rely on gossip and internet rumors to advance our side, if we are to condemn Russian bots, AM radio, and other liars on the right.

“Build the wall!” I would assume that if the video is admitted into evidence, that would then be considered “proof.”
I also believe the one video of the girls was just one that was made public. I understood there to be more. If they were from another group, that will make a difference.
Whether they shouted hostile racist remarks is actually not the issue. The Native Americans are not suing. The kid’s parents are suing that tv made their kid look bad. From my perspective, he accomplished that all by himself. But I’m not on that jury, so time will tell.

BTW most civil lawyers get a % of the money that is awarded to the victim and it
is somewhere between 1/3 to 1/2 of the total. So if I do my math right 1/2 of nothing
is nothing.

I hope the young man gets a chance to grow up and get away from the factors that
have led him to be such a smiling punk.

I’d there are bills to pay to the lawyer(s) I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a collective effort by the Covington families. Rich people aren’t used to losing.

... targeted voters. Judicial Crisis Network had 18 million $s (I think that is the figure)
to grease the skids to get Brett Kavanaugh on the SCOTUS and these kids from Covington,
KY are right in their "sweet spot" in order to keep their base fired up.

I hope that young man has a chance to get out and see the world, read some different
materials, hear different voices, smoke some dope, and watch the sun set over the Pacific.

They have tons of money to push these things.

The only good thing about this is maybe it will take some $$ away from their other efforts. Like anti-choice and anti-healthcare work.

Most importantly expect the worst. One must be prepared if Sandmann does succeed. No one should be overconfident and a back up plan must be in place in case the worst becomes reality.

Including the AP and Reuters news services... Seems kind of biased.

Skewed.

This fact alone is probably what will get the case dismissed and it is a critical difference with what happened with the Gawker and Hogan.
