It appears that at least some of the student body there has experienced a reality check in this era of fundie-reactionary politics. There's no telling what might happen if students were exposed to ideas running contrary to what's being spoon fed to them day after day.

Why the fuck are those protesting attending this school?! Everyone knows who the Falwells are and what they believe. Stop giving these fucks your money! I seriously doubt Liberty U gives a top notch education. All the classes probably teach "god did it. That's all you need to know."

They're pretty much the Christian equivalent of the University of Phoenix, with the added bonus of your opinion getting silenced if you don't follow the MAGA philosophy!

I have two friends who had to go to Liberty Baptist, and another one to Mars Hill. Their parents refused to pay for college, medical care, food, clothing, give them a roof over their head unless they submitted to them and went there for school. All three are women, and said they all decided to grit their teeth through it so they could get a degree and go out on their own. They hated it, and one, who is gay and knew it then, was manipulated into getting married. Since divorced, of course.

Stuff isn't much better for kids like that now than it was 30 years ago. Thirty years ago, they wouldn't have protested at LBC, either.
