Pentagon awards first border wall contracts for diverted funds

Source: The Hill

The Pentagon announced Tuesday it had awarded nearly $1 billion in contracts to build President Trump’s border wall with the construction set to end in October 2020.

Texas-based company SLSCO Ltd. was granted a $789 million contract for construction in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, which falls within the El Paso sector of the border. The Army Corps of Engineers also awarded Montana-based Barnard Construction Company $187 million to build barriers in Yuma, Arizona.

Lt. Col. Jamie Davis, a spokesman for the Department of Defense, told CNN that the El Paso contract would help pay for “30-foot bollard fencing and a five-foot anti-climb plate” and that the Yuma contract would build “18-foot bollard fencing and a five-foot anti-climb plate.”

It had previously been reported that the Department of Defense intends to install 46 miles of additional barriers at El Paso and 11 miles of fencing at Yuma.

And have them report the blackhole they call Department of Defense. Axe them to less than 1% of the total GDP.

Whatever Zincke did seems to warrant some Bozeman business love

Remember the Bozeman companunawarded then clawed back $300 million Puerto Rico electric contract.

6. $17M a mile

and only across mostly flat desert.

$34B at that rate... but that isn't enough, there will be valuable property the government would have to buy or condemn and face the lawsuits... plus the mountainous terrain across the most of the AZ and some of the CA border.

Probably $50B to build... and to operate / maintain... another $5B to $10B a year, forever.

13. Money - true... I question if the contracting of Trump's fake emergency wall is a DOD function?

8. I find this Pentagon decision totally disgusting!

I think there needs to be an investigation into the housing conditions for our military. It is totally inappropriate that our service men and women live in housing that should be condemned. It is beyond inappropriate that the money earmarked for improving living conditions is being used for a "vanity wall" for the orange squatter in our White House.

The danger in all these that is happening is that crooks are getting away with everything, that is exactly what happened in Venezuela, the opposition was seen on TV every day claiming articles of the constitution that were being broken, actions by the regime that were illegal, but the regime continued unabashed, they did not care, did not pay attention, they continued to pursue their corrupt agenda, and see where Venezuela is now, I am seeing the same thing in the USA now. Nadler calling for subpoenas to get the Muller report , but the subpoenas are not issued, Barr in the meantime doing whatever he pleases with the information, anyone who thinks the buffoon has not been briefed needs to wake up, the buffoon knows exactly that if the Muller report comes out he "should" be in trouble.

I don't want to loose faith, but every day these crooks get away with the corruption that is so rampant from the administration, the buffoon, the children, the lack of action from Democrats, it stings, the hurt is real, the fear is real. Like a Doctor looks at his/her patient and without checking can kind of tell what is going on because of the symptoms, if you have lived through a similar situation, then you know the symptoms, and I tell you, the country is sick, the cure cannot come soon enough, the worst the illness gets because of the buffoon and his minions staying in power the harder it will be because we are approaching stage 4 rapidly.

Crooks move fast, you can bring a building down on one day, when the same building took a year to build. We need to do our part by making people aware, even those who may become angry at you, about the realities of what is happening, people cannot be that stupid, the lack of refunds in tax filings should be a warning for what is to come, the new tax refunds, or the lack of it, should hit people where it hurts them most, the wallet.
