(California) Group With Koch Brothers Ties Gives $4 Million to Proposition 32...

Source: LOS ANGELES TIMES

A group with ties to the conservative billionaire Koch brothers has dropped $4 million to pass a ballot measure that would severely limit the political activity of labor unions.

The new committee has just one donation -- $4 million from the American Future Fund
, a conservative non-profit organization whose stated mission is to promote “conservative and free-market principles.”

The new committee, the California Future Fund for Free Markets, was opened Friday.

A spokesman for the Yes on 32 camapign noted that the money came into a separate committee, and that the official campaign sponsors knew nothing about the donation. "We have absolutely nothing to do with it," said Yes on 32 spokesman Jake Suski...

A group backed by corporate funds made possible through the bogus Citizens United ruling wants to limit the political activity of a another group?

Right.

I guess the NO on 32 campaign, now can just be,

"Keep the Koch Brothers out of OUR Business."

and having been on a picket line for 3 or 4 months through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...I have no doubt than this proposition will pass. Reagan left very anti-union beliefs in California, that seem will never die.

The GOP is just dying to get California on their side, and this, plus voter suppression will probably eventually do it.

but I can see something like Prop 32 winning in CA. Unions are very unpopular as I said. Hell, I went on strike years ago, and out of 150 or so workers, me and 2 others were the only ones on the picket line. The others all crossed the line, and continued working. That was in Orange County, but it still shows how little respect unions get.

Everything about De Maio really sends off the Koch alarm bells:

Bottomless advertising funds
Obsessively, single issue budget balancing, anti union
Koch business headquartered in De Maio's city council district
Most rightwing district in San Diego
DeMaio is a product of the Norquist/Heritage non think tanks
Uses democrat instead of democratic as an adjective.

Donna Frye, SD's most respected politician, called DeMaio a 'political sociopath.'
